It's a very unique place that started many many years ago and now every visitor puts something there. It's nice to walk through and see what people have put there, it seems endless. Close by you can buy things to place anywhere you like on the hill.

Good place for a walk and discover crosses from different countries. Here you can buy some souvenirs and your own cross. Cross can be placed among others in any place.

There is nothing to do at the Hill of Crosses, except to marvel at the spectacle of so much devotion expressed in a seemingly infinite plantation of crosses of all sizes, shapes and designs. There are no opening times as such as it is an open site, tho I believe the nearby parking lot has closing hours. Catch it at... More

An interesting visit and it is amazing the number of crosses and rosary beads. You will never see anything like this anywhere else. The site is well maintained and easy to walk round although there are stairs to climb. A good tourist information centre where you can purchase a cross cheaply. Plenty of toilets.

Impressed when I first time saw a picture of this place. No tours available on Sunday and Monday from my hotel so I went on my own. I took a coach from the bus terminal in Vilnius for euro 15.5 (paid to driver) for 3.5 hrs to Siauliai, then a taxi. Agreed with the taxi driver at euro 20 (he... More

It is worth googling the history before you visit. It is testimony to the will of the people and is also a very moving place to visit. I have never seen anything like this on my travels before. There is a visitor centre with parking (to pay for) but you can park for free too. It is quite a trek... More

I was in two minds about visiting this site. I am not in the least religious, and nothing brings out the atheist in me more than a gaudy church or seeing displays of devotion towards something about which I am unconvinced. However, as a visual experience, and as a manifestation of the faith of others this site is well worth... More

This is such an amazing place it's hard to take it all in but a definite for anyone who is interested in the history of the area or wants somewhere to contemplate things for an hour. It is relatively easy to get to but you will need to plan your time well as the buses and trains aren't that frequent.... More
