This is another little gem of a place that we have stumbled upon during our travels. The villagers are very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately we were there on Monday and the plaza was deserted except for one solitary man. It is, however, a delightful plaza and we were told by a local that on Saturday evenings the place comes to... More

The place is nice in the daytime, but best after 10 pm, when all bars and restaurants are open and packed with people, mostly locals, form young to old. You can enjoy a real Spanish experience, without the touristic touch.

We dropped into Archidona while staying nearby at Cortijo, La Haza. It was a bit of a dull day but the unusual plaza was well worth a look

I first visited Archidona in 2015,since then I have bought a house and moved to the village/The Ochavada is considered to be probably the best in Andalucia.Lots of events held there throughout the year and the best bars and restaurants in the town are around it.If travelling between Seville and Granada take a detour.its a must.

Authentic square in the heart of Archidona, steeped in history. Beautiful buildings and a choice of three restaurants for a meal surrounded by memories of the olden days.

Interesting 'square' with a selection of cafes and restaurants. Nice place to hang out. It is unusual to find an eight sided 'square' and the buildings are attractive and in the past were used for a very different purpose than eateries.

Beautiful plaza well worth a visit. It has been restored and looks very splendid with bars and restaurants occupying the square. There is a uniformity about the paintwork which helps create the simple clean look to the plaza. Worth a visit if you are staying near by or travelling through - as is the town of Archidona in general with... More

This is a beautiful octagonal plaza which has recently been nicely restored; 'reforma' in Spain can have the ominous sound of demolition and the use of many tankers-full of concrete to 'restore' an historic building, but this is well done by any standard. There are several bars and little restaurants in the plaza. So far it seems to be kept... More
