Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lol, I mean just lol. What so exciting about those cypresses? It's like a second Podere Belvedere, where every single person must turn over and make a picture. There are much more truly amazing landscapes around that people pass without notice.
Stop looking into photography sites and make 1000009 photo within the same spot and same view. It has been already photographed and post-processed in every possible way, starting from violet-pinkish skies with digital fog and going all over through replaced sky and pasted animals which never inhabited that area.
Be different, look around the valley.

A great icon from Tuscany! We went there at sunset and it was a very nice moment. It's easy to find and very worthy. Recommended!

Originally they are from Lebanon but like a lot of other things (see potatoes, tomatoes, peaches, tabak and lot of other things) they became with time iconic to Italy and Tuscany and when you see them you will understand why: it's about the sweet hills, factories, fields, sky with fantastic clouds and, last but not least, this so special trees which were imported in origin to adorn the cemeteries and now not only them.

While planning our vacation, we knew we would be driving through Toscano at some point so we reserved a day to explore Val d'Orcia (and a few hill towns). As we drove through, we agreed that we'd want to visit again in the spring when the rolling hills are lush with greenery. Still, we enjoyed the landscape and being whisked away in a rural canvas. (I'd take it over this bus ride home from work as I write this review.)
True there are other areas just as beautiful, and perhaps you've seen pictures of Val d'Orcia everywhere. But we appreciated seeing it with our own eyes in our own story. I noted a singular cypress in the middle of a field. I stopped to admire a group of dried up sunflowers that still had a beauty about them.
Perhaps you will visit and create your own story.

We have passed by these cipressi a number of times over the years, and finally stopped to take a photo. Funny enough, the photos taken from the car when driving past as just as good as those captured when stopping. Not sure of the great attraction of this particular clump, there are far more dramatic sights, perhaps if doing a study over the seasons or at various different hours of the day.
It is always worthwhile to also locate the small quiet back roads to enjoy the scenery.
The area in general is the big attraction with many other more fabulous views and is well worth driving through in morning, in afternoon, in early evening to see that changing light on the landscape. San Quirico down the road is a wonderful town to see, without the maddening crowds.

We passed several times on the neighboring road, there were always many stopped cars. We checked, it turned out to be the most famous group of cypresses in Tuscany. We stopped and photographed them ...

One of many "iconic" Tuscan sights that you will find in this area. I was told that farmers plant trees in circles so as to trap birds making them easier to shoot but the main thing visitors have to be careful of here is leaving nothing of value in their car when they park and walk up the hill for car break-ins are known at this parking spot. But do park and walk for beyond the first circle of cipressi there is now a second, and the summit of the hill affords spectacular views south to Monte Amiata. Great walks too going the other way from the opposite side of the Via Cassia.

This is a family owned hotel/restaurant
It has a magnificent view of Val D’Orcia
So if you stay in the hotel Casa Nova you walk through the grounds to the restaurant
It serves good honest Italian food and has the wonderful view
One sister runs the hotel and the other is the cook in the restaurant
If you go outside and look to the left there is a mediaeval town, excellent
