Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This one was my personal favourite of all the waterfalls we visited in Meghalaya.
This cascading beauty has a rocky plateau on which you can roam around and truly take in the views.

We visited this Fall In JAN 2024 and it was closed. PPl were not allowed to Visit this. However fall was dry and there was no water in it.
This is only fall where you are actually standing on top of the waterfall.

We visited Daithlen falls in the morning and the road leading up to the falls is in very poor condition for 7 kms. However the falls were very good with the unique experience of seeing the waterfalls origin very close from where it was falling down. We also sat there with our feet dipped the cold waters of the falls that was going down. It is a must visit attraction for the chance to see a waterfall so close and without having to walk more than 10-15 steps from the parking. It can be enjoyed by folks of all ages.

You can stand on top of the fall and can see the water falling down in 3 tiers. The best view of the fall is from the top standing over the waterfall and seeing the water dancing down below. If there is fog around then that adds to the mysticism of the view.

We could take our vehicle very near to the fall and then could reach origi of the falls within about five minutes of walk. Lush green ambience all around. We could experience the waterfall going into the beautiful deep and green valley. Quite a pleasing experience.

The falls have multiple view points and you can actually see the origin of the falls. All the view points give different glimpse of falls and gives you unique picture for your memories. There is rock formation around the view points from where the falls emerge and there are puddles of water within these rocks. Place worth visiting

These falls are about 20 minutes drive from the highway over broken roads most of the way. In early Nov there was a decent gush of water at the head of the falls but not much else. Later into the dry season, I guess there would be hardly any water and could be avoided.

This waterfall is basically not on popular route. You have to take a road from main Cherrapunjee near Orange Roots restaurant. The road winds its way for more than 10 kms with very few people to be seen .The stream flows on the table land and makes a fall and disappears down below. To see the falls you need to cross the stream which is shallow and go about 200-400 meters to the other side .You can sit and laze on the table land and put your feet on the pool of water of the stream flowing. You have 3/4 shacks selling teas, cold drinks and packaged snacks.

This was an Okay attraction as it is an ordinary view of falls from the above with a picturesque landscape.
If you are on a short trip, I would recommend you to skip this place. Not much to do and the road is a dead end. You need to reverse back to go to other attractions and no attractions on the way too! We stayed in Saimika resort which was like 5 km from the falls and hence we made a point to visit there.

what are the things to do in Dainthalen falls

I visited during April. Best part is - we could pass through river bed and go to the other side of falls. It was very nice experience. There were many different shaped wholes in river bed which were great for photography. You can pass through on top of waterfalls and you can go to opposite of waterfalls. Nice locations.
