Only for religious people. Nothing to do or eat there. Would not go again. It is a complete wastage of time and petrol.

This is old monument of Kanpur. There is not much attention has given there that why is looks like ruined. But if you visiting Kanpur temples then this one also included.

Like much of Kanpur and monuments in nearby areas, this too lies in shambles and without being paid much proper attention.. The place needs to be marketed as well as developed into a tourist hotspot atleast for those visiting Kanpur even on a business purpose.. It has such mythological significance attached to it.. The place is oldest of all other temples in kanpur....It relates to treata yuga time( four yugas or ages as per vedic teachings) Here Lord valmilki wrote the epic-Ramayana.;Divine Goddess Sita stayed at this place after separation from Lord Rama ;and it is the place of birth of sons Luv and Kush. Valmiki ashram Bithoor is located near about 20 kms from Kanpur city. This ashram is near to the Brahmavath tath on the banks of Ganges. birthplace of Lav and Kush, the site where the Ramayana was written. This is good place to spent some time when you visit kanpur, calm and on the banks of river ganga. This place definitely need some attention from govt of UP.

Come and feel the history. There are very few places where you can feel the history in terms of what you have read and heard from your grand parents, and i must say this place is one of them. Accessibility is bit difficult as i feel, one should hire a taxi or should have own transport to visit here.

The complex known as Valmiki Ashram in Bithoor is located about a kilometer inside from the main approach to Bithoor's Brahmma Ghat.
