Green Olive Tours has departures from Ramallah, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, & Tel Aviv. The company is a cooperative of Israelis and Palestinians, and is a social enterprise focusing on cultural and people-to-people experiences in Palestine an Israel, visiting religious and historical sites, villages, refugee camps, and off-the–beaten track locations.

Our guides are knowledgeable and illuminate the culture, politics and history of the Palestinian and Israeli people. Each day-trip is unique. You might find yourself having lunch with a Palestinian or Bedouin family one day, then meeting a Samaritan priest the next. We offer daily tours and multi-day experiences that include home stays in Bethlehem and Palestinian villages. Our tours benefit the local people.

As a neutral party to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I felt I very much needed and lacked the perspective provided by the tours offered by Green Olive. I spent 2 days with them: first going to Jericho, Qumram, Dead Sea, and second to Bethlehem and Hebron. I have been deeply touched and disturbed and changed. As a foreigner, I was allowed... More

Thanks KooChoLondon. I am happy you took our tours. One small followup to your comments. Israelis are indeed allowed into most of the West Bank. Outside of East Jerusalem, there are about 350,000 Israelis living in West Bank Settlements and they are permitted to travel freely to and from Israel, and also within about 60% of the West Bank, known... We did the one day tour of Bethlehem and Hebron. There were only three people on our tour so it was very personalized. Our tour guide was raised in Bethlehem and had a thorough knowledge of the area and its history. We visited a church, synagogue, and mosque so had exposure to multiple religious perspectives. This takes you to areas... More

Went on a one day bike tour around Jerusalem. It's difficult in Israel to get an objective tour about the politics of this country but this bike tour did the job pretty well. The guide was absolute amazing and got us through the most interesting neighborhoods (and checkpoints) which you don't get to see if you just do the inner... More

A few days ago I did a 1 day cycling tour around Jerusalem, including the Palestine territories. Our guide was great. He knew a lot and he changed the route a bit according to what interested us most. Would book again and would definitely recommend!

I went on the tour of Hebron- just Hebron. The idea of it was entirely to gain political perspective, not sightseeing. So we had an Israeli ex-military guide (not Breaking the Silence but similar perspective) whose name I can't remember, and a Palestinian guide named Mohammed (SP?). They traded off at points because there are places Palestinians cannot go, and... More

Visiting Ramallah on a saturday is the easiest way to get there as there are no check points control and you can pass through quickly, without having to wait in long queues. You have to visit the tomb of Arafat and stroll in the city. The view to Ramallah is astonishing, and breathtaking. It was a unique experience to visit... More

Joined a Green Olive tour of Bethlehem and Hebron in October last which was a wonderful experience. Special praise goes to Hisham who was one of the best guides I have ever encountered. Easy-going, informative and a pleasure to deal with. He treated our small group like family members. Thanks Hisham!

We had an excellent experience with Green Olive Tours, and in particular with Jehanne Ela, who booked our tour, and Amro, our guide. We are a Canadian-Jewish family with 3 children, ages 12, 9, and 3. My husband and I have both lived in Israel in the past, but this was our children's first visit. We wanted to give our... More

Lyman G (who also reviewed the tour) and I took a full day tour of Jerusalem with Green Olive. We were staying in Tel Aviv and so the day started early with a taxi pick-up in Jerusalem at their arranged location (tip: ask them to pick you up at your hotel--it seems like it should be do-able but we didn't... We did a five day private tour, with four nights at a home stay. The tour was everything we could have hoped for, exceeding our expectations. Our tours had excellent itineraries focusing on the socio-political dimensions of the sites and cities we visited with extremely knowledgable and flexible guides. For anyone interested in learning more about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, more... More
