We stayed at the Bouganvillea Resort which was right on Maxwell Beach. Beautiful white sands and clear sea, although when we were here it was always rough! Could walk along it for about 10 minutes before you reached the end where a hotel is. Interesting...More

Beach across from our condo. Nice beach, not very crowded. We did have to walk through a local hotel for access, but there was no issue. When we visited, no locals, just a few tourists. Nice and clean, but smaller.

Maxwell Beach is a lovely spot with palm trees and beautiful water, not completely over-run by tourists. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the little crabs just off the beach - thousands of them! Pleased to find that despite the smaller size of the beach, it was not...More

The south side of the island isn't as calm as the western, but it's usually okay once you get past the breakers. If you're just looking for a beautiful beach, it definitely fills the bill. We enjoyed it while staying at Bougainvillea, so beach chairs...More

Our hotel was situated on this beach and it was really beautiful. I enjoyed an early morning walk here most days when it was virtually deserted. My worry is that the Sandals resort is expanding and this will make the beach very much busier in...More

I don't think Maxwell Beach would be suitable for children. The surf was very high when we were there and it would have been dangerous for someone who wasn't an expert swimmer. There was no entertainment for children either.

Is it quite close to local entertainment or secluded etc?
