Lucky to experience this magical place in the very low tourist season as part of an Overseas Adventure Tour. We were at the park when it opened and didn’t see any other visitors until we were concluding our couple hour hike over and around the multiple cascading waterfalls. And there were cats who greeted us and followed us for a good part of our outing-an extra plus😊. Very glad to be there at this time of year and not the crowded and hot summer.

This is an amazing area and well worth the visit. We stayed the day at Krka after staying at Plitvice National Forest which is a whole other level of amazing. We decided to hike in to Krka from the trail off of the highway near Skradin. The hike to the falls is long and pretty along the river. We arrived at the bottom of the waterfalls where there is a restaurant along with kiosks selling ice cream, food, treats and souvenirs. From this area, you get an excellent full view of the falls. We then walked up the path to the top restaurant and followed the ‘Walk This Way’ signs. The first path (behind the gift shop) takes you to some little museums which are quite cute and interesting. The second path, a little further up, is a walk along a boardwalk into the forest with water all around the boardwalk. It is amazingly beautiful and should not to be missed. Along the path are many smaller waterfalls, wildflowers, plants and viewpoints of the main waterfall. When looking online at Krka you mostly see and think of the large waterfall which is indeed impressive, but this walkway was amazing and that made the whole area exceed expectations. I would definitely go back here again.

This is a lovely place, but was it worth the 30 euros to get in? Not really. I have seen better in other part of the world free of charge. Given the number of people going in and the crowds on the board walks, someone is making a lot of money. Beautiful, yes, but not good value for money.

We had a right stroke of luck visiting Krka Waterfalls in Croatia on the one day they don’t allow swimming. At first, we were a bit miffed, thinking we’d missed out on some grand aquatic adventure. But, as it turns out, it was a blessing in disguise! Without the usual splashing about, the falls were like a private showing for us. I managed to snap what might be the most marvellous photo of my life—definitely not the sort of thing you get when you're dodging swimmers! The waterfalls looked splendid, the views were top-notch, and the whole scene felt like it was laid out just for us. So, if you end up there on a no-swim day, consider it a stroke of genius on nature’s part. You get all the beauty without any of the wet chaos—perfect for a spot of photography and a jolly good time!
