We had to have a picture on the rocky arch. Who knows it might crumble one day and we at least have a picture to remember it by. Just for that, this place is worth a visit. It is very windy at this place so...More

Beautiful and very interesting cliffs. Very nice stone arch. When windy, it can get quite dangerous to walk over the rocky bridge, so be careful!

Gatklettur is a breathtaking stop full of jagged cliffs that rise out of the calm seas below. Plenty of walking and hiking trails to check this place out. Ample free parking. Not a lot of tourists.

The views of this dramatic basalt coastline are stunning. The waves crashing onto the coast are mesmerising and watching the abundant amount of birds nesting on the cliffs or fishing in the sea is amazing.

This was our favorite stop in the Snaefellsnes area - the rock structure and the unreal azure of the ocean (we had a sunny August day) was breathtaking - esp since we had been to the south coast earlier in the week - the contrast...More
