About
Imagine pure, crystal-clear water cascading down from the great Caucasus Mountains, winding its way through the lavish land in the foothills of the valley and suffusing the sun-bathed vines. These ripe, abundant grapes are then collected and handled with care and love before being transformed by the apparent magic of a master into wine. This is what happens every year at the vineyards of ASPI AGRO

I love tasting different wines and therefore have always dreamed of visiting a winery. This one is not big one but really worth a visit. They let us go inside to their production area and have explained us about their production, operation and how they carried out their marketing. They do sell across Europe and their production is less compared to the market demand.

They took us to the cellar where they have arranged for wine tasting. They gave us Red,white and Rose wines with different tastes.

The experience was altogether awesome. The environment is totally family and kids friendly.

You have not been in Gabala if you have not been at Savalan Winery. Premium class wine from very professional Italian and Azerbaijani wine experts. You will always remember this trip if you visit the Savalan Winery. Buy some wines with you when you go back.

We ate here on our way from Baku to Sheki. The views were stunning and the food and wine excellent. Big plus: The staff was able to communicate in English and we were able to make changes to the dishes according to our dietary needs. There is also a childrens menu and colored pencils and pages for them to use while waiting.

We arrived 3pm, regular working day, and discovered that despite working hours, factory is closed and there is no one to do the tour. Before the visit we tried calling them many times and texted to their Social media to book the tour, but nobody respond.
So when we arrived to the wine house security that of course speaks (non of the languages except his native), called the tour guide, and they said for 50 AZN per person they would make a tour. We agreed to that cost, but as we had some not drinking friends we asked to carry tour without tasting for some and tour with tasting for others, where they said we either go all on Drinking tour 50AZN, or we all go for Verbal tour 15 AZN. So we had to go for only excursion tour on everyone.

The tour itself took us around 40 minutes, and was very Mediocre !!! we were shown the facilities where they produce the wines, briefed about the story and procedures, and brought into the shop, where again all their wines were simply offered for purchase at the same price like in any other store around Azerbaijan.

If you are still thinking of wine tour book Meysari Wine yard it is MUCH better tour with wine tasting cheese plate, snacks and enjoy full 1,5 hour journey in a beautiful place where you can finish it up in their fine restaurant, for the same 45-60 AZN.

Loved the entire winery tour. Everything was explained in detail, the process and the works.

We got to taste a variety of wines and the cheese complimenting it was yummy too.

Definitely a must visit while in Qabala. Prior booking is suggested to avoid delay as there are large groups on a daily basis which are booked in advance.

Savalan ASPI Winery is a vineyard at a short distance from Qabala City Centre. The location of vineyard is on the way to Qabala Airport, rather little further from Qabala Airport. They have excellent tours of Vineyard followed by wine tasting. The Vineyard offers multiple options for Vineyard tours and wine tasting depending upon the size of the group visiting the vineyard and number of wines the guest wants to taste. The cost of the tour works out cheaper if you have bigger group. The tour cost may look quite steep if you have just one or two guest.

As the vineyard is away from town please make sure you agree with the cab driver for waiting at the vineyard till the tour is finished and then drop you back to Qabala. Also call the Vineyard in advance and book the tour if you are directly visiting them and looking for English Speaking Guide for the tour. If the Tour is organized thru your hotel or travel agency then they will make all arrangements for this tour.

As i was solo traveler and there were no other guest scheduled for this tour, i did this vineyard tour on my own. I arranged a taxi thru my hotel, agreed upon the price with driver for staying at the vineyard till the tour was over and drop back to hotel in Qabala.

The drive to vineyard was quite scenic. I had to wait for short period at the vineyard as i dropped by without any prior advance tour booking. After a short waiting period i was accosted by my English Speaking guide who gave me detailed tour of the vineyard which included history of vineyard, the different processes, kind of wines produced etc. We even visited the underground cellar where the wines are stored. The tour was quite knowledgeable and interesting. After finishing the tour i was taken to wine tasting room and offered range of wines produced at the Winery for tasting. You can also pick up wines after tasting from the vineyard at discounted rates.

The entire tour and wine tasting took around 1-2 hours. A must do on the list for traveler staying at Qabala.

Despite our late arrival , our guide was delighted to see us and made us very welcome. He gave us a tour of the vineyards, the factory and then we were given a very generous sampling session in the board room. It was a great surprise. We were already fans of Savalan wine; now even more so!

They have a wine tasting tour which we did not go. However we did stop by to get some real nice authentic Savlon Azerbaijani Wines to carry back home. You have a wide variety of wines to choose from.

Thanks to a friend, we were given a wonderful tour of the Savalan factory and its territory. I learned a lot of interesting things from our guide, saw the winemaking process, visited a huge wine cellar, and enjoyed the views of the surrounding area and vineyards. At the end of the excursion, we were treated to a wonderful dinner with wine tasting from this factory. The guide, at the same time being a sommelier, excellently told us about the differences between wines and how to use them. At the table in front of each person tasting were white and yellow table lamps, which helped to better study the wine being served. So I recommend this excursion with all its components.
