Foggy, no Mt Ararat

The Charent's Arch itself is absolutely unremarkable. It is named after Armenian poet Yeghishe Charents, who loved Mount Ararat (like most Armenians do). On a clear, sunny day you will have the best view of Mount Ararat. On a foggy day, which I had, there's nothing and it is hardly worth the stop.

Great view! But! Must make sure to arrive on a day with good visibility so to get the full affect of this amazing place.

Quick stop

Good for quick stop by the road. Take a few photos. Mount Ararat can be seen directly from here. Sometimes more, sometimess less.

Beautiful Mount Ararat view

On the way to Yerevan to Garni this beautiful site will be visible. One must be careful as Snow capped mount is not clearly seen but if the weather is good and sunny definitely the view will be clearer.

Stunning view and the arch

Before going to Garni and Geghard, you will encountered in the road this beautiful arch.
You will see the majestic Mt. Ararat and the hills that covered with snow.
I came here during winter, better bring winter outfit whereas the location is very much cold and also don't forget the camera for your souvenirs

Recently restored arch

The views that open up from this arch are terrific. I visited it on a bus tour to Garni and Geghard. The bus just stopped along the way and we had about ten minutes for photos. The arch was restored not long ago with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development. The plaque at the base of the arch tells that in three languages - English, Russian and Armenian.

Excellent views of beautiful scenery.

The arch in itself is okay, but nothing overly spectacular. But the views from there are stellar. The view of the lush and green valleys and mountains are something to behold. And despite a cloudy landscape, I was able to get good enough views of Mt. Ararat.

Nice view

We can see the view of mountain Ararat.

A bit crowded with the tourist.
It's on the way to Garni Temple from Yerevan.

It's the view and not the arch

The arch is dedicated to Yeghishe Charent who is considered the most important modern Armenian poet. The arch in itself is unremarkable but it is allegedly one of the best view points of Armenia, with Yerevan and its feet and Mount Ararat in full view.
We drove by on a very hazy day so it was not exactly worth a stop - but then it only takes 5 minutes to look around and leave.
