Tourists in Tirano should really pay this magnificent place a visit. Kind and helpful staff and an audioguide is included in the price. Learn about the rich history of the Salis family and admire the barock and rokoko style fresco illusion paintings. Situated right next to the San Martino church.

We stayed for a week near St. Moritz and took the Bernina express for an excursion to Tirano on July 20. During our half a day stay, we also visited Palazzo Salis, it was an absolute highlight for us and we highly recommend it to everyone else also to visit who is also interested in history and beautiful architecture. It... More

We had a morning of sightseeing before catching the Bernina Express. We wandered around the old town and found the palace. We really enjoyed the visit and the guide at entrance was very enthusiastic. Great fresco and wall paintings and a beautiful garden. Would recommend a visit. The location in Tirano helps and the setting enhances the palace.

It's a nice historical palazzo that is worth a visit if you have some spare time waiting for the departure of the Bernina Express.

Today me, my girlfriend and our 2 sons visited this very nice palace in Tirano. The price included an audioguide which provided some very helpful background information on this palace, to be found in the old city centre. Although the frescos are definitely worth the visit, I found especially the rose garden worth the trip from Bormio. With the beautiful... More

Exploring the older sections of Italian cities always leads to a surprise. We stumbled across this palazzo and entered. A very helpful attendant gave us an audio guide and off we went. Room after room was amazing. The end concluded in the garden. The sun was out, flowers blooming and the beauty of the garden for all to enjoy. This... More

Stumbled upon this treasure after arriving in Tirano and walking around. Not to be missed: great knowledge by the staff and well worth renting the audio guide to truly appreciate what one is seeing.

Palazzo Salis in Tirano is found only if you see the sign posts while walking around the quaint streets of Tirano in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy. The signs will point you in the right direction, and you’ll find a couple of signs on the building itself, telling you that it’s there. It doesn’t look grand or overstated so... More
