New location for Altea Market (2016)

Decent sized market, but not as big in its new location as when it used to take over the whole of Cami de L'Algar. It's now in the car park on the other side of the railway line... read more

Please note that this is only a fruit veg and flower market which was not what we were led to believe and was a disappointment after hiking up a rather steep hill!! Altea itself is stunningly beautiful and well worth a visit but the market I would not make a special trip for

Decent sized market, but not as big in its new location as when it used to take over the whole of Cami de L'Algar. It's now in the car park on the other side of the railway line from the sports centre - at the far end of Cami de L'Algar (Google maps 38°36'27.4"N 0°02'42.9"W). There's also a fruit &... More

Altea fruit, veg and flower market moved last year from down near the railway line up into the old town to the road next to the Cruz roundabout. There is actually more room here and will probably be a permanent site due to changes to the railway line. As well as fruit, veg and flowers there are nuts, sweets, herbs,... More

One of the most stunning villages in Spain. Not far from Alicante. The place is so friendly and a haven for art lovers. A must!

Altea market from Benidorm is easy, 1 euro 50 on the bus number 10 i recall, much better market than Benidorm, never gets as crowded, but a huge amount of stalls, just as you think you are at the end, the market stretches off again to the right. Lads there is even a micro brewery there, its about 200 yards... More

We decided to take the bus up to the market whilst staying in Benidorm. Having read the reviews I wonder if we actually went to the right place (I know we did). Absolute waste of time. Full of fakes and al same stuff. Won't be going again. Maybe we just went on a bad day?

This market has grown over the years and is worth a visit because the area is very different to Benidorm.A lovely food market behind the church if markets are your thing.
