A very impressive temple. Well worth a visit but try to avoid the busiest times and the midday heat.

It was very hot and humid the day we visited. There is not much too see and a lot of walking to visit the remains.

This was a magical place, probably one of my favourite temples. It was so calming and peaceful. The remains are incredible to see, we were surprised at how large this area was and how much still remains, definitely worth the visit if you interested in Sri Lankan history and Buddhist culture.

The only temple we found in Habarana was around 1km out on the main road - the Habarana Village Temple - a small Buddhist temple with a white stupa, a small lake and a few small shrines and relatively un-remarkable. The directions link bizarrely take you to the Hotel Acme. On showing people the trip advisor page they thought that... More

We aren't religious really but this place is special, spiritual on a whole different level. Amazing artefacts and building. Well worth a visit.

We had an archeologist as a guide and we learned a lot about the history of the site. It is very differnt from the Budhist temples in India, but very interesting. Yona S.

This temple was well worth a visit. Was reasonably priced and a nice walk up to the top apart from the usual hassle avoiding of the people wanting to sell you the usual tat. Luckily we had a guide with us who warned us about the offerings of flowers to people to take the top and the many visitors who... More

It was peaceful, relaxing and enjoyable. The walk up wasn't too bad, and you were often entertained by the monkeys in the trees on the way up. We had a great time.

Beautiful ancient building, with a lot of interesting historical information. Gorgeous for a bike ride around, but very hot during summer - make sure to take plenty of water
