Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Decided to go for a drive after The Queens funeral knowing that not much would be open; having stopped at Niabyl Bay and Port Erin and heading towards Castletown I spotted this on the map and decided to drive down for a lookat the views of Calf’s Head, I was surprised to find a biggish car park and more importantly something opened serving food and with loos. Luckily we’d got there 5 mins before closing at 4pm (earlier than normal ) so got to have tea and cake inside though they did serve takeaway tea and cake which you could sit outside to drink. £11 for 2 teas a scone and a slice of tiffin, pricey but it seems everywhere on the Island is pricey at the moment. Anyway it was nice and the views across the Sound were lovely, we even got to see and hear Grey Seals and numerous birds, a few nice walks from there and a good few seats..a nice find .

This was our last place to visit before our holiday ended and it was probably the highlight. passing through the village of Cregneash with it thatched cottages to get here and then the pure beauty of the Sound was wonderful. We saw quite a few seals and just sat in awe at the natural beauty around. Fantastic

A great visitor centre and cafe and the views of the Calf of Man from here are stunning. There are a variety of walks for all abilities that start from the visitor centre, most on the coastal path with stunning views.

Lovely trip to the sound and views to sit and admire all day. Restaurant can get busy and seating at times can be limited but in good weather loads of outside space to enjoy and benches plentiful. Looking across the sound seals play on the rocks and come close enough to visitors to get your photographs. Wild cliffs, hidden caves and huge vistas really spoil the eye here. A must visit for all who visit the island.

The guidebooks say these are the best views on the Isle of Man. That's a pretty high bar to set but at least one of us agreed 100%. The sea, the Calf of Man, rocks, cliffs - the whole package. Also seals but at quite a distance.

Called here while doing a tour of this part of the island having including Port St Mary, Castletown and Port Erin. The Sound is along a winding road so you will need a car or some other mode of transport as it is about a 3 mile walk to the coach park.
Sound is a lovely area where you can have a short walk around the cliff tops or a sit down on the benches or on the grass and take in the views of the Calf of Man and do some seal spotting. Can be windy so go prepared, especially with good footwear, saw somebody trying to navigate the rocks in flip flops (a broken ankle in the making). Plenty of visitors around even though the weather on the day was not the best.

Second visit this time in springtime and saw lots more seals basking in the sunshine. It’s always wise to take a rain coat and something warm to wear as weather very changeable. Great to stop off at cafe for refreshments, even better take a picnic. (Weather permitting)
