The Macau Palace (Floating Casino) was very much a product of the old Macau, being easily recognisable to those familiar with the 1974 - James Bond classic 'The Man With the Golden Gun'. This old Macau icon was closed in 2007 and hauled away to make room for the development of the Fisherman's Wharf. I believe it was sent to... More

Driven by curiosity to see this beautiful and particular Casino and after seeing it in the last James Bond movie I just wanted to make sure to gather all the information possible to get in and figure out where he was. The palace is another place in Macau which is worth visiting and spending time at. The beauty os the architecture makes you love the place and people who were involved in building the structure of the monument. Worth visiting and spending good time.

The floating casino has fallen victim to the surge in new western style casinos such as Sands, Wynn and Crown. It was towed away sometime in 2007 and has not been seen since. The pier where the floating casino used to dock is now empty with a sign telling pedestrians to keep clear.

Unfortunately, this floating casino is a pale reminder lacking the character of its predecessor of the same name that used to be moored in Macau’s inner harbor, at the far end of Avenida... More
