- LincolnshireSashaLiverpool, United Kingdom97 contributionsVERY PRETTY LITTLE COASTAL TOWNThis little gem of a place is approximately a half hour Bus ride from Maspalomas Bus Station and costs just over 4 euros each way. A lovely little town with a big Marina, lots of eating places both reasonable and dearer a a HUGE Friday market which is well worth the visit. We spent a day there looking round the Marina, little shops and lovely Beach area. We chose a small Cafe near the Bridge over the Canal and had a lovely fresh large Tuna Salad and large Beers and the cost was aprox 25 euros. Well worth a day visit whether you want to lie on the lovely sandy beach or just walk round all the shops and Marina. It's been aptly called 'little Venice'.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 29 January 2024
- David Turner-McLeanBrighton, United Kingdom235 contributionsStunning buildings and SceneryStunning scenery in this quaint Spanish Town. Went on a Friday, which is market day. Was surprised that the market stalls stretched from the bus station all the way up to the hotels and down through the town, and onto the marina wall arm. So much to choose from. Definately worth a visit on a Friday. If shopping is not your thing, then Mogan is still worth a visit. The buildings and narrow streets covered in flowers are magical. Lots of places to eat and drinkVisited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 February 2024
- Tatyana M1 contributionBeautiful island with outstanding viewBeautiful island with outstanding view done the coast and in the mountain. We stay in small town Arguineguin and we full a love with this charming town. Very relaxing atmosphere, good food and extremely safe. Was nice and warm during our stay and absolutely pleasing water to swimming in the sea. Unbelievable warm evening with amazing sunset, lots of restaurant’s bar and lots of place to sit and enjoying sunset and sea view on long promenade. I hope we love it so much not because we came from cold and rainy England. The only think I don't like that all hotels have big wall around with security key or padlock. So, we couldn’t see any resort inside encase we decided to come back with hole family.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 February 2024
- Tigerram221 contributionsWonderful lagoon for both confident and non-swimmersEven though is popular (and therefore busy) you can find a spot to throw down your towel and go for a swim. The sea wall protects you from any waves so is a great place to swim at any time. Is a fairly gradual sand bank underwater so you can feel safe to walk out even if you are below 5’6’ or not a confident swimmer. Lots of bars and restaurants there, though expect them to be just a fuel stop.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 28 February 2024
- KirstyolNorwich, United Kingdom101 contributionsPretty marina, nice beachPretty town and beach with nice cafes lining the promenade. It’s small and a bit more expensive than some other resorts, we had our own parasol and there was plenty of room. Parking is around 9 euros for the day. There are lots of cafes around the small marina area which is very pretty and worth a wander around.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 April 2024

My wife want a pair of shoes in a (SUN) shop, my wife tried a nice pair on, and when my wife said she would like these, the shop assistant said €49:95 because there was no price on them, my wife said straight away no thank you. The shop assistant then said how much do you want to pay €30, my wife said no thank you , but the shop assistant pestered my wife, so my wife said €25 and the shop assistant snapped her hand off and thank you. Please be very careful shopping in these places, it’s spoiling the name of such a lovely place.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 12 May 2024
- vogel421Haringey, United Kingdom121 contributionsA pretty and well-organized placeNice and well-organized beach with sunbed and umbrella hire attended to by nice helpful staff. The beach is clean. It’s not huge but everyone seems to manage a sun and a swim. The village, harbour and surroundings are beautiful and nice to wander round. For lunch we walked waaay anticlockwise round the harbour to the end of the jetty and a lovely restaurant that looks like a flying saucer – I’ll review this separately. The “Little Venice” bit is perhaps a tiny bit overstated but it’s very pretty anyway and worth a look. We really enjoyed our day in this pretty place.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 June 2024

A town with a fishing heritage, beautiful harbour and friendly welcoming people. It’s so nice to spend time in a town where Spanish people live, their friendliness and hospitality is so good. We return regularly and do not have any negatives to say. The restaurants are high quality and fresh fish abounds. If you visit on market day it will be busy. The supermarket provision is good. Self-catering is easy. The beer is good and cold👍. Can’t wait to return!Visited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 June 2024

It’s a nice place to wander round with the kids and search out the different cafes or bars to while away the day. Well worth visiting and even nicer if you live here.Visited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 9 July 2024

If you're looking for a quiet low key beach holiday then this is for you. We are a couple in our early 40's we came without our daughter and were looking for a laid back beach vibe away from the 'brits abroad' scene. We booked for 10 nights in a local hotel and arrived on 13th March 2022. After getting to our hotel early evening, we decided to walk to the marina and go for a drink. It was about 10pm. Dismayed to discover that most places are restaurants which were closing up. No bars that had any live music. Couple of small bars which had a pool table but no music. It all just seemed a bit too quiet for us.
Luckily as the holiday wore on we found a disco underneath the shopping centre called Starlight Disco - its opposite the cordial mogan valle hotel. Its next door to the supermarket and down some steps. They have a live singer every weds and Sat and great music to have a dance to. There's also the outlaws bar which plays Country music which is also Good and thats within the same shopping complex.
During the day its very busy in the main area of mogan. Lots of shops and restaurants all bustling and a busy little beach. There is no beach bar to buy cocktails unfortunately. We decided to buy the local beer from the supermarket and take it to the beach with us.
Weather was cloudy most days but a pleasant 20 - 22 degrees.
There's an excellent bus service from the bus station in mogan. The buses are cheap and regular and go all around the island. We spent quite a few of our nights in neighbouring puerto rico. The bus took around 17 - 20 mins and cost around 1 euro 60.

Playa de Mogan actually refers to the public beach area in the resort of Puerto de Mogan, but most of the reviews here are for the town ( which has its own TA listing) and not the beach. So I’ll give you my review of the beach itself and then the town.
The beach area , Playa de Mogan, is quite small and hence tends to be crowded, but is well sheltered with good sand and a safe swimming area. It has good facilities with the possibility exception of the portaloo toilets, but then has the advantage of being lined with touristico bars and restaurants which were of a surprisingly high standard and quite reasonable, especially on the drinks front where they compete with each other and a large local beer can be had for 2.5 Euros.
I can only stretch to four stars for the beach, but the town itself was a five star stay for us. But you will need to look at the Puerto de Mogan to see why.

We have just returned from this lovely resort and are planning our next trip here already. This place is not for people looking for night clubs and partying, but if you want a quiet place in beautiful surroundings with a great choice of restaurants and cocktail bars, then this place is for you. The town is invaded every Friday for a huge market, but returns to normal the rest of the week. Have a visit, you will love it too!

This is a wonderful place to enjoy the ocean and eat out at the seafront restaurants. Road access is very easy thanks to the GC-1 motorway with its tunnels and viaducts. In particular, we found the El Pescador restaurant a great place to enjoy a tasty meal. A variety of delicious foods always delivered with friendly smiles by Milo and Ali who made me and my wife feel most welcome!

We last visited Puerto de Mogan several years ago when we thought it was a pretty town with an interesting market, small shops and cafes/restaurants that were not too crowded. This time we found the market had spread over the entire area and the whole place was too crowded. We were only visiting for the day and I think avoiding market day would suit us better.

Although only small this is a beautiful beach and has a great deal to offer. Being in a bay, it is very safe as the sea is calm and the waves gentle.
It is ideal for swimming or paddling and there are sun loungers for rent. These are about €10 for two with a parasol included.
It is lined with shops, bars and restaurants and so there’s something for everyone.
It really is very beautiful and definitely worth visiting.

Definitely deserves its "little venice" name. The town is small and easy to get around. The beach is small but well serviced, and well protected by the jetty. Plenty of beach restaurants and bars for a great range of foods. The shops are mainly independent tourist gift shops (cheap plastic chinese stuff definitely NOT from the island), but some more discerning retailers with local produce and arts (and a few designer fashion shops such as Lacoste, Esprit, DesIgual etc), as well as a number of 'duty free' style outlets.
The holiday apartments around the marina are really lovely, covered in borgonvilliae, geraniums etc with a very 'Mediterranean' feel. We were staying at the Radisson Blu Mogan, which is only a short walk from the town via a fully pedestrianised wide walkway. THere's a street market there on Fridays, but again, not really local produce or crafts, mainly cheap imports.

The beach is tidy, there are sunbeds and parasols. But that's all. The beach smells like open sewage. Every gust of wind we smelled another disgusting odor. Even next to the beach, sitting at a restaurant, we still smelled this pungent sewage smell.

Is the resort flat in Playa de Mogan? I have mobility problems and struggle on hills & steps.
Many thank.
Written 9 October 2019
Hi, the area around the harbour and the street area of the town is flat. Plenty places to walk. There are a few canal like water ways that have small humpback style bridges, but not many. I would say that the area is fine for walking, even with mobility problems. The further inland you go the more hilly is becomes. Hope this helps.

Are there plenty of restaurants/bars ? Is this suitable for a couple middle aged but still young at heart ?
Written 7 September 2019
Oh yes, walk away from the beach and the food gets local. We’re of a certain age and love the place. People watch, hold hands and chill, don’t get pulled into the overpriced seafront restaurants. Nice to walk past but keep going

Разрешена ли рыбалка на пляже, понятно, что там, где нет людей, у буйков? Что если забраться на волнорезы и удить с них? Is fishing allowed on the beach, it is clear that where there are no people, near buoys? What if you climb on the breakwaters and fish from them?
