If you are visiting the west coast of Puerto Rico and need to relax you must visit the Buye Beach. Buye is a beautiful beach with calm waters that makes it ideal for families and people looking to have their own piece of paradise. In addition, there are a lot of very good and typical seafood restaurants nearby. My recommendation:... More

Nice blue waters, different from the north side because Cabo Rojo faces the caribbean waters. someone mentioned the sand is golden, that's incorrect!!!!! Being too many beaches of different colors so the sand is white, but not whiter than Vieques south beaches IMO. This beach is nice for little children. Water is calm, and there is a small bar with... This is a beautiful beach with easy access. There is a bar and store right on the beach. The beer was cold and the food was good. There are better beaches close by,but this a great place to bring the family.

There are a number of beaches in the area and this is a very nice one. There is good parking, vendors, a souvenir/snack shop. Beautiful views of colorful buildings and fishing boats.

This beach is off the beaten path. It is tricky to find if you don't know the area. However, we love to come here when we visit in December, because of it's calm and beautiful water, and the fact that during this time of year, there aren't many people around so it is quiet and relaxing. During the winter time,... More

This beach really has potential but it was just too dirty for my taste. There is literally a trash can every 10 feet and placed in an awkward location. I mean, it's great to have trashcans readily available but do they need to be in the prime seating location?? Could they be placed by the back of the beach so... More

Playa Buye was very nice. Like others, we did not find the main entrance. We parked in a private lot ($3) and walked to an entry point. It was a Saturday and the beach was crowded at points with locals, however there was plenty of beach for everyone and plenty of trees with lots of shade. The water was blue... More

This beach was just like the picture postcards of the Caribbean that we all grew up seeing. I don't think we ever found the "public" beach and instead approached via a dirt road to a small access point. Trees grow close to the beach so it was possible to stay out of the sun when not in the water. A... More

This beach is a bit tricky to find but worth the effort. Very nice sand and water. Ample shade trees for protection. I would highly recommend a swim at Buye if you are in the Cabo Rojo area.
