- Jenny D3 contributionsWell worth a visi!Well worth a visit! We were advised to see this and it was a good call - The views from near the top were amazing (There was restoration work going on at the highest point so no access currently) There are some explanatory panels along the way about the history of the Vila and a small museum with displays - A pretty stiff climb up and down steep steps and paths so good shoes are advised - Take some water! There is a Cafe and Restaurant which looked nice but we actually walked 10 mins back down to the old town to eat and found good food in a small local restaurant down a side streetVisited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 8 October 2023

There are loads of interesting shops and bars/restaurants there, and the ramparts give a spectacular view over the bay, with large yachts and ferries coming and going all day. Very nice area, it is good to visit during sunset or in the morning so you do not have the sun burning you while you are going up. The way up was not all too tiring to be honest. There were some lovely streets with flowers. Must pass by Scalinata which is a bar on stairs. There is also the cathedral and some shops with hippie motives. The views from up however were not that special.

Dalt Vila is the old town of Ibiza Town, the main city of the homonymous Island. It is surrounded by walls and it is the place, where you can walk, visit some places like Contemporary Art Museum, some churches and the Cathedral, the Town Hall and Square, Puget Museum, the tourist office; see very nice views of the see and surroundings from some lookouts on the wall, walk around very beautiful streets and specially to the Plaça d'Armes and Porta de ses Taules, or only go to a bar/restaurant to eat/drink something during all day. Also, I come here in January and there were almost no people, it was quite.

We had a lovely few hours exploring, we took in the coastal views and enjoyed the little streets with awesome flowers. We passed the Hollywood walk of fame equivalent! Lovely looking restaurants within and we went to one just on the outskirts. Cathedral was beautiful and could light a candle. Highly recommended! Not very wheelchair friendly if needed to know that, cobbly and some steep parts and steps only in areas but still lot to see that would be okay!

This part of old town is more beautiful than the depiction on photos. The panoramic views, sea on one side, bustling life on the other, narrow lanes (a maze on its own) and a little hike - everything add to the beauty. Shopping surrounding those small lanes and bylanes and the view from the top is well worth the time and the hike. Sunsets could be a better time to visit this part.

its like you are waiting for romeo and Juliet to show-up as you stroll inside the walls of the Dalt Vila. Was on a guided tour and we strolled into the interior by entering via the large door/gate way. You'll need good walking shoes for the cobbled stone paths.

Full of little streets, cafes, shops, restaurants and stalls. A great day out - you could easily spend the full day just behind the ‘walls’, finding a great spot for lunch and roaming around. Make sure to climb to the top. No entry fee.

Great Vista of the party town. When not peaking or dancing the day / night away, this spot is great to take in the views and picture what Ibiza was like before ecstacy and alcoholism, hahaha. Seriously great views of a mediaeval city..

Hello , is it possible to visit dalt Vila in a wheelchair ? I know it’s steep and cobbled but I have a power attachment which will help. Are there any routes without stairs ?

Is it easy to tour on your own? Anything recommendations on things to not miss
Written 13 October 2019
Hi there, yes its easy to tour on your own. Its nice at night. while I could not say one thing not to miss, personally I think best is to just walk around the area and see what you dump into. Different strokes for different folks, but something for most. A few nice bars/restaurants/craft shops

Absolutely not.... Leave your sweet love with a nanny for a couple of hours and go explorate with your tender half... There are fantastic things to do at various stages of life, from just born to almost in the grave, and this isn't something great for a less than 10 / 12 / 14 years old (depending on the personality and also physical strength). Your marvellous little prince / princess will have lot more great things to do in Ibiza.
