Several occasions we have tried to visit but this remains closed. You can peep over the railings to see the tiled floor.

There are signs in place all over Skala to the Roman Villa and people are always hanging around wanting to look, but apparently it's been closed for 6 years. It's a shame, you can catch a glimpse of the mosaic by clambering up the fence,...More

Found at the end of a knackered dirt track hidden away from sight and locked behind gates. Such a shame something so interesting is being neglected when it could capitalise on the tourism on its doorstep. As echoed below you don’t have to be a...More

The villa is closed and fenced off, and not possible to view from outside the fence. There is unofficial access for the more adventurous... The mosaics are damaged but lovely. There is no indication that the villa will be re-opened any time soon.

We walked down to the roman villa only to find it look as though it had been closed to the public for quite a while. As it is fenced off you are unable to see any of it.

We walked down to find it closed; looked like it had been abandoned. You could hardly see anything through the rails and what you could see was disappointing. Not worth your time.

s I have read in other reviews this place is closed. I even asked the owner of the nearby restaurant when it will open and he said next year - perhaps. Give it a miss.

I think people must remember exactly what they are looking at and how old the mosaics are. No they are not left to worsen but looked after. The rails i can't understand why people moan, they stop endless people touching the floor, plus the temptation...More

We went and it was shut!!! HAHA, this isn't the greatest review because of that, but we could see over the fence anyway. We could have probably done the whole site in under two minutes anyway. If you are already there then go and have...More
