Riding through this spectacular canyon was an exceptional experience. We saw birds and a crocodile family, as well as the towering cliffs above.

The boat ride was hot, bumpy and boring. The “ explanation” in Spanish only. The scenery is uninspiring, the one sad crocodile was sitting on top of garbage and thousands of discarded plastic bottles were strewn all along the shore. We left feeling depressed about...More

An epic, must visit place near Tuxtla Guttierrez or Chiapas de Corzo. We took a guided boat tour (cost 230 pesos) with a boat full of locals (they were also taking the tour) to this incredible canyon. The tour is just over 2 hours long,...More

We recently visited the Canyon from Tuxtla. We took a bus and then a collectivo to Chiapa de Corzo which was quite simple and inexpensive. Would recommend using the banos in the town before heading down to the boat trips. I believe the boat tour...More

Canyon was simply stunning. The scenery was amazing. Seeing the walls doesn't really give you an indication of their size, you can see their big, but when we saw a helicopter flying in the canyon, and it was just a mere dot against the height...More

I went here with my wife and boarded a boat to ride through the cañon. The height of the cliffs are quite impressive, up to 1km high! The guide gave us explanations at key stops. One was the "pine tree" which is an accumulation of...More

In the hotel we stayed we were told that the first boat was at 8:30am. Didn't confirmed this information. We took the 10am boat.

I want to take a boat ride through the canyon and also go to the lookout points. My plan is to get the boat ride there at the dock (not a prepackaged tour) but then how would I go to the lookout points? I imagine that you must drive between each point? Are there buses that drive to each lookout point? Or can I walk it? Or perhaps rent a car? If I do rent a car, is there a good place to park while on the boat ride?
