Very unfortunate, but we came there to see the palace and not the garden. The guide was talking only about the flower names and how known they are in Italy. This information was very useless for us since we came there for the architecture.
The time that we actually got to spend in the palace was about 15 min only. And It wasn't even the main room or anything, just a long hallway till we reach the balcony. At the balcony we got about 5 minutes, which is just ridiculous, because we also had to drink the wine in 5 minutes. We felt like dogs that are unwelcome there. The price that we paid does not go along how we were treated.

It was very painful, because the palace is amazingly beautiful.

We took a boat from Porto di Torchio to Isola del Garda and then had an extremely informative and interesting guided tour in English (German and Italian available) around the grounds and palace finishing with wine and olive oil tasting. Fantastic afternoon.

The tour to the Isola del Garda was spectacular! It is very well organized, including the boat ride to the island.
The island is in incredible good shape, the gardens, the buildings, are in perfect condition.
The story of the island and the Cavazza-Borghese family is amazing. The special part of that is that you will have the Contessa Alberta Cavazza-Borghese giving you the tour in English! that is something you won't see anywhere else in the planet!
Her English is impecable since her mother is from London. She put some much effort to tell us their story, like it was the 1st time she've done it.
Incredible low profile (considering her Nobel status), was like being in a fairy tale story. Amazing how the whole family managed to keep this property in such a great shape and even more impressive they decided to share that gorgeous place with us.
Extremely recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A pure gem nestled in the crystal clear waters of Lake Garda. Run by the Cavazza family, with immense passion and incredible care of such a beautiful ancient villa and island. A magical venue for a fairytale wedding! I would highly recommend a tour if you are in the area. 5 stars!

This is the sort of island that dreams are made of. An historic but homely house occupying as island on one of Italy's most beautiful lakes. The tour is fascinating, and reasonably priced, the house and gardens are wonderful and the wine and nibbles at the end of the tour are just what you need while you sit and soak up the ambience. One of my favourite places in the world.

We booked the tour directly with our hotel (Hotel Continental) and took the boat from the hotel's private jetty; the boat trip was about 45 minutes.
We were met by the English speaking guide, who took us on a fascinating tour of the island which is covered by parks and gardens and dominated by the Venetian Neogothic 'Villa Borghese Cavazza'.
The house is the former home of the Dukes of Ferrari but is now in the careful ownership of the Borghese Cavazza family, who have lovingly transformed the whole island.
The tour concludes with drinks and nibbles on the terrace, overlooking the Lake.
A hugely enjoyable afternoon !!

The Isola del Garda is the family home of the Borghese Cavazza family, and the family have transformed it for over a century. We were taken round by one of the current owners and the insight she gave into the history and architecture of this lovely island was outstanding. Highly recommended

We booked online directly with Isola del Garda-website and printing tickets very easy!
The boat was on time and the crossing took about 30mins. It stopped directly in front of the villa to give a photo opportunity then moved to the pier for access to gardens etc.
We were met by the tour guide, great granddaughter of the Borghese Cavazza family. The house and gardens have been tended with loving care and this very much comes across when we were being told about their heritage! The tour lasts for 2 hours with a drink, nibbles and an olive oil tasting! We throughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend the trip!

The island and mansion are very beautifull. Enjoy it.
Boats to the Island are available from many towns on the lake. One can preorder tour with boat ride on the isoladelgarda.com. as well as read some history there too.

Things to know:

1.Try to be early at the pier so that you can choose better sits
2. Do not forget Bug spray and sun screen and water. there are fair amount of mosquitoes on the island.
3. The whole trip is about 2.5-3 hours door to door
