Anyone who might have the impression that this is a sensory garden that would be enjoyable for a disabled person should give this a miss. On an overcast/rainy day the cramped spaces were too crowded even for those not in a wheelchair. Having planted a very amateur garden myself in terms of scented and colourful plants, for my disabled daughter, I would consider this Jardin as being a major disappointment. Having visited gardens and other attractions, which frequently do not charge an entry fee to a disabled person or their carer, it was a bit of a shock to be told that we were being offered a ‘reduced’ rate of €10 each.

This place is definitely a labor of love, professionally organized, with friendly staff. Unfortunately we visited on a hot and busy summer day, when it had almost no flowers in bloom. Unless someone is really into gardening therefore, it doesn't amaze. We found it overpriced and in hindsight would have skipped it.

My wife and I arrived at Yvoire aboard a wonderful paddle steamer that plies various small town ports around Lake Lemen, (we travelled from Nyon). The village is dominated by the Hotel Le Flots Bleu and the (silver coloured) spire of a wonderful old church which, I believe may be Russian. If you arrive as we did in August then the quaint little streets are a riot of colour with flowers tumbing over the buildings from window boxes and tubs. There are many very interesting arts and crafts on show, many commanding a very high price, but there are more affordable tourist items as well. Feeding the many visitors is obviously a priority and there are many very nice restaraunts. A local speciality is fillet of Perch (caught in the lake). This did not immediately appeal to me as I had often fished for these spiky little fish as a boy and could not immediately think of eating them! Nontheless my brother in law insisted and I took his recommendation. If you like fish, I hope you take mine - they are really delicious. However it is not an inexpensive choice so be prepared for a cost of approximately 26 euro per head for this dish! Overall a lovely place for a visit, a couple of hours wandering the arts and crafts vendors and a good lunch. Steam lovers and engineers should try to arrive on the paddle steamer as the brilliantly polished steam engine is the centrepiece of the ship and obviously well loved, gleaming brass and immaculate.

To be honest there is not much to do in Yvoire, so this place sees some good business. You pay over 11 euros per person to see a very nice garden. Unless you live for plants and gardening I recommend using the money for a few beers or wine.

10 euros at this time of year (October) not worth it. Not much flowering or sweet smelling. Nice trellising of fruit trees though.

A nice set of fairly small gardens each offering a variety of plants and flowers attracting one of your senses. Open from 10am to 7pm, last entry at 6:30pm. You won't need more than 20-30 minutes to walk through. Contrary to what the name suggests, definitely not a labyrinthe. A family rate of EUR 25.50 or EUR 10 per adult is just way too much for the experience the place offers, unless maybe you are a botanics expert.

I loved these gardens! I can only assume the entrance fee (which is well worth it) keeps out the hoards, but that makes them all the more peaceful in busy Yvoire. The gardens are really well laid out and cared for and there are plenty of benches throughout where you can sit for a while and enjoy. The staff were really welcoming and there’s a great shop you can access even if you choose not to visit the gardens.

Thank you very much for your commentary. We are so happy when our visitors enjoyed their visit. This project demands so many work ! But we do it with passion and love. Best regards.

We visit Yvoire in June which is a beautiful small village and definitely worth a visit. We paid a visit to these gardens which was €12 euro each (myself and my wife). After the visit, I think this was expensive. It is of medium interest with some interesting plants, mostly green and very few amazing flowers. The overall size of all the gardens are quite small. While it is a nice garden, we were not impressed and if we didn't visit the gardens, I don't feel we would have missed out

Based on reviews I planned a visit to the garden as "must do in Yvoire" and was really disappointed!
This garden is really small, not worth the visit and the entrance fees of 10€.
The experience was not up to my expectations. Reviews are overclaimed. Yvoire is a flowery village enough not to waste time (and 10€) in this small deceiving garden!

I love visiting the Jardins des cinqs sense, no matter the time of year. When Yvoire is bustling with visitors, it's good to take an hour or so to relax in the gardens, admire the varied and attractive vegetation and hear the trickling of water and chirping of birds. A little piece of heaven.
A huge amount of love and care goes into the maintenance of the gardens and the staff are helpful.
There are good facilities available (toilets, shop).
It should be noted that the gardens are not enormous and can be fairly busy.
Definitely need to be visited!
