Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

you need to know the golden hours for each side of the valley but if you time it well the views are amazing.

The walk around the Hill of seven colours takes about 45 minute to an hour. There are many photo opportunities. The town is bustling with plenty of bars for a deserved refreshment!

the scenery is beautiful and the colors fantastic ... it's funny how you can look down and see green rocks below, but when you get there, they aren't as green as you thought !
this is a pretty easy hike, mostly flat .... it would rate as an average hike for me, but because it was easy enough and short enough for my friend to enjoy, this hike gets a bonus point :-) There are also people coming up in their cars, although most were kind enough to drive slowly so we didn't have to eat their dust ...... about halfway through, there is a vantage point (you can also access it from town) to take a nice photo ......

There is absolutely no reason you wouldn't visit this place if you were physically able. Admission is free, place is easy to get to, views is gorgeous, and it's not difficult.
Walk is about 3km and took me and my mom slightly over 1 hour. Views are gorgeous and landscape is unique. There's a viewpoint in the beginning where there is a lady charging 20 ARS for admission (nickel and diming but worth it).
Definitely worthwhile!

Paseo de los Colorados is an easy short and beautiful walk in Purmamarca. It’s really easy to do and offers amazing landscapes. If you like Mate, take your kit with you and drink some mates looking at this amazing landscape, mostly red!.

Pumamarca is alive with tourists and as you make your way through town you come accross markets with cheap llama/alpaca attire on your way, to get atop a hill for a good look there is a 10 peso fee but well worth it for the colors!

I’ve already posted about the Seven colours hills and Purmamarca in a seperate post so will just sum up that this 3 km walk is very easy ( although it is at 2,500m) and you can get a little map from the tourist office and walk the 3km Los Colorado Poseo ( you can also drive but walking way better) to see all the colours and layers of the many hills formed from as long as 3-4 million years ago. You can climb some rock stacks fir better views and grab an icy pole and cafe at the end of the loop .

Our tour was "Salta La Linda" and was booked through South America Tourism - check them online - it was 6 days and 5 nights and included airport transfers, accommodation, breakfast and tours. The part to Purmamarca and Paseo de los Colorados was 2 full days. We were supposed to do the "Train to the Clouds" (Tren de Las Nubes), but there had been a rock fall and we were given a private tour for this bit instead and I am quite sure it was a better option. Email the company above for more details. Cheers, Trish
