My husband took this lesson on the grounds of Ashford Castle and absolutely loved it. He walked with Lima, who was very comfortable with my husband and did a phenomenal job.

I didn't expect to be so completely thrilled by learning to work with a hawk. The school teaches the basic concepts of mutual trust and respect, introduces students to handling skills, and then quickly advances to an exciting hike with your "own" hawk. I could...More

The Irish School of Falconry is an absolute must do while visiting Ashford Castle. What a great experience! Loved the fact that they allow those that are not actually participating to come along as a spectator. The handler was very knowledgeable and friendly.

This was potentially the highlight of our short visit at Ashford Castle. As luck would have it, we had scheduled a falcon walk with no idea of what to expect. Joe, our guide, spotted us when we entered the falconry and upon introducing himself, asked...More

This was one of the high points of my two-week tour through Ireland. It was an absolute thrill to have Lima, a Peruvian Harris Hawk, land on my arm to receive a treat! Joe, our handler, explained everything, and of course whomever was receiving Lima...More

I emailed to set up time, date, number of our group and I heard back within 24 hours each time I had a different question. Once we got there, "Mel" was out falconer and she was awesome!
