I have been in numerous caves. This one rates very good. But - not for anyone who had health issues - including mobility and respiratory. You go down 159 steps (we were told) and by association you climb them again on the way out. Also...More

We took this trip to the cave from Laguna Azul. A very interesting trip including a tour of the City of Matanzas. The cave walk in itself could be a bit tough for kids and elderly. Remember to wear sneakers or running shoes. Sandals or...More

This is a Cuban treasure. Very interesting museum and artifacts around the main building housing the entrance to the cave. Worth all the physical challenge of the stairs and slippery surfaces. We had a great guide and I had a very kind young Cuban man...More

The caves are magical like your in another world the farther down the colder it gets, the water runs off the rocks and it all looks like crytals.

I didn't know about the caves until I took a tour to them. Limestone with the usual flowstone, clear pools, stalactites and such. Easy entrance and a cool refuge on hot days.

The tour started with a 10 minute 3D video of less accessible parts of the cave which are stunning. Our guide very kindly took the trouble to seek us out to personally translate his commentary into English for us when the majority of the group...More

The cave was originally discovered, like most, by accident, when a worker lost a valuable tool in a small hole in the ground and then discovered a huge cavern when they opened the hole a bit. Also typical, original visitors were allowed to break off...More

Very nice cave with lot of crystals. It takes about 45 minutes to go around. Make sure you wear a shoe to go down as it is a bit muddy and slippery in parts.

I quite enjoyed touring the Bellamar Caves. A series of stairs lead into the massive caves. Inside the caves are beautiful crystals, stalagmites, stalactites and columns. Our tour guide was very informative and friendly. The tour of the caves lasts approximately 45 minutes.

Only 5 cuc. We did not pay extra to use her cell phones to take pictures. We're pretty thrifty so we figured we could find pictures on Google. The walk inside the cave is quite long which is nice because cave tours to me always...More

I do not remember paying more than $5 for any attraction in Cuba. However, this attraction is away from all of the others, so see if your travel route allows for a stop here.

I don't have the exact times here, but I think something like at least 10-4 would be a pretty good guess. We went early afternoon.
