You can hike through the park and explore a freshwater cave, and even snorkel or dive in the cave. Bring bug spray (or wear long cloths) and wear hiking shoes. You also need a flashlight for the cave. There's also organized tours of the park...we went with Seavis and had a great time.

Everyone should have an experience like this once in their life. The catamaran ride to the island was beautiful relaxing and fun. The island itself was gorgeous with beautiful palms on a soft white sand beach. The lunch served was delicious, with local dishes like octopus salad. The high speed ride back to Bayahibe was lots of fun.

For $3 US per person this is well worth exploring. You can hike to a natural underground cave. It's pretty awesome. You need to wear running shoes and you MUST bring a flashlight or a headlamp. Go in the morning when it is cooler. The hike takes just over an hour each way.

There is an official price which includes a guide and there is an unofficial way of getting in. A lot of people just walk along the beach into the park. Most stay on the beach. But some walk to the cave which is a 1.8 mile walk, one way. I suggest you wear some protective cloths because there are mosquitoes... More

I went for an early morning run from Dreams La Romana to the park. I felt a little guilty because on my way in and out there was no one manning the booth, so I didn't get a chance to pay my 100 pesos. There were signs along a self-guiding trail describing a little about the people in the park... More

A short 10 or so minute walk from the town of Bayahibe to the entrance of the Park, enjoy a hike through the park on well laid out trails, there is a small entry fee ($5usd last time I was there), also several underground caves in the park you can visit and swim in, or you can even arrange in... We took a cab from Dominicus to Padre Nuestro, which is the "official" entrance to the path that leads to one of the three caves in the park. This cave is really cool, interesting looking, and with very beautiful completely clear spring water nice for swimming. The walk is on an easy path - 1.9 km round trip. This is... More

It seems like there are a few different areas of the park to visit. Clearly, you should go to Saona Island when you are in Bayahibe. We went and it was lovely. But we also went to visit the Padre Nuestro area which is very close to Dominicus and Bayahibe. We drove- and the road was very bad- perhaps rent... More

We drove our rental scooters, down to the end of the road, to where the gate to this Park was indicated. Sketchy. A kind of dirt road ran into the woods, from the parking area, although calling it a 'road' is generous. Six of us decided, in unison, that it was less than wise to venture any further. We turned... It was hard to get there with a small car because rain destroyed the road but when we get and meet our guide it was perfect. 1 hour fun with swim and dive in a cave, climbing at the end... fun
