In fact, the reclining Buddha is on a scale comparable to the one in Bangkok. Apart from the Buddha, the temple consists of multiple buildings spread around the grounds and it is definitely recommended to see everything, also for the views from the pagoda

The temple is not spectacular enough to make a trip just to there, but if you combine it with the old street and the cathedral, it is worth a detour. The have a huge and beautiful reclining Buddha.

There is a very large reclining Buddha here which is definitely worth seeing if you are in Chanthaburi. I was shown how to do a prayer walk around the Buddha and offer flowers and gold leaf - it's a very peaceful place. It is in...More

Wat Phai Lom is in the heart of Chanthaburi and in terms of the ground it occupies, is the largest temple in town, occupying what normally would be four city blocks. It has many temples, buildings, stupas, and monasteries, set in a largely concrete paved...More

we were helped to give a puja (offering to the reclining Buddha) an offering of flowers and gold leaf and we lit a candle and incense and did a prayer walk around the huge statue and the energy was palpable. I like the grounds outside...More

I was lucky enough to take part in a munk ordination ceremony at this temple. My two step sons played the drums for the new munk. I find that visitors are very welcome at the temples of Thailand, no matter the occasion as long as...More

This huge temple grounds are just that- huge, but lacking in beauty and charm. I will definitely keep It on my 'repeat liar's to see the progress in a few years.
