Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

“Wait a minute, Doc. Are you telling me you built a time machine?”
Enjoy a blast from the past & take a moment, an hour, a morning to stop in at Sandra se Winkel. This Traditional Trading Store/ Museum built on Heartsease Farm Cathkin Valley will have you intrigued & captivated by the amazing sealed products dating from the '60s that are still in their original packaging. There are also has beautiful pottery made by local artists, quirky gifts, and great memorabilia.
Visit the museum to see many well-known brands going back to the 1900s, some “extinct” and some in their old original packaging. You can wander around for ages with thoughts like “I remember that”, or ” I used that, or ” I had forgotten about that” etc.

Sandra operates this living museum with a passion, not for money but to preserve a way of living for the next generation. Her shop/museum is something not to be missed in the area. Thanks for the friendly reception and informative chat.

This is a definite must when in the berg believe me you won't regret this. This shop will take you on the road down memory lane. It is filled with so many old items from 1960 it will take you a good 1hour to explore all. It has a shop and gallery which is free and a museum which is R20 pp to enter which also gives you entry to the shed. Well worth it. Just do it

Blast from the past. Lots to see and buy. Reasonable prices but some of the antiques are expensive. Don't miss if you can

Sandra se Winkel is full of stuff. All kinds of stuff. Some of it on exhibition only, some of it for sale.
As entry is free of charge, I do not know how she makes a living...
