Really enjoyed our visit to the massive Chateau d'Ecouen. The excellent museum covers 2 floors and can take some time. Very informative. Great rooms covering several centuries. Don't miss the Galleon Automaton. Lovely setting and gardens.

Great castle from the 1500s which houses a renaissance museum. Not as touristy as other historic monuments in the Paris region. Easy to get to: take the train at Gare du Nord and get off at Ecouen. Unless you have trouble walking I recommend walking...More

We enjoyed the 20 minute walk from the station through the "foret" and the sudden appearance of the magnificent building. The daily closure from 1235 to 2 pm is annoying, given the time it takes to reach Ecouen and the mot very good restaurant attached....More
