This place offers unique experience in terms of Buddhism history. Hire a guide and get the right historical perspective. You can get a guid for Pak Rs. 500 - 1000 only.

The history of Taxila is truly fascinating. The museum is nice, the staff is informed and friendly, and the ruins are interesting. It's no Stonehenge or Angkor Wat, but for Pakistan it's pretty good.
