Must go inside fast to take seat or you cannot sit together with your family. I bought tickets at Sentral Station with bus tickets, cheap and easily. Bus from Sentral Station to Awana skyway is about 1 hourVisited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 17 July 2023
- SIMONCHEONGSingapore, Singapore2 contributionsINCREDIBLE VIEW OF MOUNTAINWe had an amazing experience at this place. You have both the options for the skyway i.e. glass floor and without glass floor. If you are going for the first time i would suggest you to go for Glass floor, the price is little higher than the non-glass floor but the view you will see is unmatched. We went to this place on a Sunday, so as expected it was little crowded and there was queue for tickets as well. However, you can go to self booking counter which is easy and usually less crowded.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 8 August 2023

It’s a cable car what they call it Tram, it takes you 10 minutes ride down to the Outlets with a stop at Chinese Temple for free. You can book the tram with bottom glass cabin for extra cost if you are more brave, but not in a rainy day like us. Awesome view all the way up and down.Visited September 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 27 September 2023

Cable cars are a good option to move from the Highlands peak area to Awana area... but if can get very crowded on peak periods. Alternatively we used Grab and the cost is almost the same for a family of 4.

When you visited Genting Highlands, you should give it a try. Awesome gondola ride with glass floor. Don't forget to stop by the Chin Swee Caves Temple.

An exciting 10 mins cable car for each trip from Awana Sky station to Genting Highlands and back.
Really nice experience.
If you don't mind to wait, the fare is fairly cheap about RM10 per pax pet trip. If you don't wanna wait in long queues, you can skip the queue by paying an extra (RM 16 per pax per trip).
View was really nice throughout the ride. Best time to go when there is not school holiday in Malaysia, or else it's going to be really long queue everywhere at Genting Highlands.

If you are traveling from KL by express bus, this attraction is pretty much a forced experience. They'll drop you and pick you up from the lower station and you must traverse the skyway to get to the resort. This is a perfectly fine and reasonably priced skyway otherwise. The views of the Buddhist temple and SkyWorlds are particularly nice, but there's nothing else that makes this better than other sky rides around the world. Another point of note is the frequent cloud cover here. The trip down was completely shrouded in clouds with a visibility of about 10 feet. Not much one can do about that, but just a point to note. You'll probably do this because you have to and it's a pleasant trip.

I am writing a review here as i was unable to contact Genting in anyway to report this (they only have the autoreply chatbox which couldnt recognise a complaint).
The Gondola experience itself was great and fun. However we were faced with suspicious activity at boarding at Awana Skyway, story below:
We were DENIED entry on the gondola (on 25/2/23) cause we did not have any mask on (Note: Malaysia no longer has any mandatory indoor face mask since months ago, nor does the entire Genting avenue/park/casino). The weird thing is, there were ZERO signages saying you have to wear face mask to board prior to reaching the boarding area (all the way from Genting Premium outlet to boarding).
We were requested to go buy face mask somewhere else before we can board. So we went to 7eleven, the staff told us there is no face mask sold and pointed us to Boki Boki (a restaurant nearby) , which is weird, and we were in a rush so we didnt look around the store. Upon reaching Boki Boki, there was a suspicious handwritten RM1 face mask sign (Doesnt seem legit at all, attached the photo), and we had to purchase our face mask over counter. no receipt was issued, the face mask was not wrapped in plastic just taken out of drawer. I know it is just RM1, but imagine 100 people have to buy from them a day, thats RM100 sales a day. Anyways I am not against mandatory face masking, but this whole incident seems too suspicious as when i return from Genting , they did not mandate mask at all at the point of boarding.
To Genting, if you read this, please provide a platform for formal complaints, and please check into Awana Skyway on this incident. If face masks are actually mandatory, please be consistent throughout the whole Genting and put up sufficient signages to inform.

Hi all. Was browsing the bus options from KL SENTRAL to Awana Skyway. May i ask why the RESORTS WORLD bus takes 1 hour 57 minutes journey to Awana when the other Redbus only takes slightly more than 1 hour ?

Im planning to visit Genting Highlands in Aug 2019 and just wanna know will it be too crowded during that time as many reviews mentioned its super crowded to buy the tickets as well as to board the cable cars. Usually which days are crowded? i'm guessing weekends mostly?
Thanks!

It can be extremely busy, but if you're in a real hurry, you can buy a VIP ticket which gets you to the front of the queue. My advice would be to buy your tickets in advance
