Went with my partner who is an occasional rider. I am very much a novice. The staff were very friendly and helpful, offering simple guidance to make the saddle time safer and more enjoyable. We had a beautiful three hour trek along and across the river. More experienced riders got to up the tempo a little and novice me was... More

We did a 2.5 hours horse trek through the Punakaiki Valley. We took the scenic route to view the stunning scenery of the Paparoa National Park. We rode through native bush to view huge limestone bluffs capped with lush temperate rainforest. We did a lot of river crossings and stopped at a private bush hut for coffee/tea, before wending back... More

Had the best trip with the horse treks team. We were riding through the beautiful nature of the national park, crossing rivers, having a tea break in a little hut and finally riding at the beach. Really great and friendly team, would recommend it to everyone! No experience needed:)

This year I shouted my niece for her 23rd birthday . It had been her dream to horse treck. As a first time rider the guides were awesome. The scenery of the Punakaiki valley is second to none ! This has to be the best operation country wide.

The trek was fantastic. I had limited experience with horse riding, but the girls at the stables were very friendly and helpful and really reassuring. The horses were very gentle and easy to ride. The scenery was fantastic and the route they take into the jungle crosses some beautiful rivers then out on to the beach. The guides were all... More

I went horseback riding with my 5 year old daughter, the guide was amazing, told us tons of history and fun New Zealand facts, taught us some riding tips and let my daughter ride her own horse while attached to her via lead rope. We got to cross rivers, go on the beach and go up and down hills. Amazing!!

Everything was positive in this trek, experienced, knowledgeable staff, lovely yet not boring horses and a ride up a stunningly beautiful valley.

We booked a couple of days before. It turned out to be a good idea. As they needed all the horses for our two families. The horses were great. Well behaved and quite comfortable in their trekking role. The guides were very helpful. Giving us a basic riding lesson at the start. Then taking us on a 2 hour ride... More

Friendly in different ways: - easy to book (I called on the day itself but you can just pop in) - experienced guides who keeps you entertained and safe at the the same time - well behaving horses (maybe the biggest problem is that all the times they would just eat if you let them) Nice sceneries as - you...
