If you are tired of beachlife you can go here. It's a shopping and dining mall. The main attraction is thta the place is made on regained land. Some nice shops and a harbour, and the mall organises events every month or so. At the top of the street you'll findTesco to do your groceries and Household items.

I've regularly visit this area for a leisurely walk or to meet friends for a catch up. There are many coffe/tea shops, bars, eating area etc. It is a bit pricey compared to local costs, but for a nice change, its worth a look around.

Built on about 600 acres of reclaimed land this area is a delightful spot for residents and visitors! There is a Marina which hosts many sail and pleasure boats from many countries as well as multiple restaurants and interesting shops. It is also a good place to walk and appreciate "Skyline Views" of Georgetown.

This place is lovely and modern with lots of places to eat. Go and look at the yachts and boats outside with a view towards the Eastern and Oriental Hotel in the distance. We got a free shuttle ride to Straits Quay while staying at the Eastern and Oriental. Plenty of places to eat here and quite a few clothes... More

Large development, with blocks of apartments and shops and restaurants on the first 2 floors. All very clean and shiny everywhere. It is situated by a marina, with some very nice views across the water, not to mention views of expensive boats, to be seen while eating at the many restaurants, s! We went on an afternoon when it was... More

When Straits Quay first opened, generally the Penang crowd was excited. It was new and unique with an adjoining marina. You cannot find such a mall anywhere else in northern Malaysia. My family enjoyed many F&B visits covering Blue Reef, Uncle Alberts, Nyonya Breeze, Dome Café, Papparich, Oh Sushi, Winter Warmers and a few more which have closed down or... More

We visited the shops at Straits Quay. Unsure how long this mall has been open, but seemed to lack a wide selection of shops and retailers. What is there is quite good. There is a Sams Groceria on the ground floor, with a reasonable range of groceries available. Also plenty of places for coffee and casual dining.
