We went here in the morning. Having read a few reviews with concerns about safety we were a bit on edge. However, we encountered no problems and went for a lovely swim in some of the waterfalls by the old hydroelectric plant. Unfortunately one of the main waterfalls was closed due to repair work on the path. Towards mid to... More

We were warned not to visit because it might be dangerous to go, but we took a tuk tuk, there was security at the place and did not experience anything negative. The hike to the waterfalls is pretty easy and the waterfalls just breathtaking! Make sure to take some shorts or a bathing suit!

We visit this waterfalls with my girlfriend, we took a guide because of the safety warnings that we heard of a people being robbed around the waterfalls. It was very nice, we walk from the hotel to there, on the way there is an awesome nature with a lot of flora and fauna, tropical fruits trees and beautiful butterflies and flowers... More

It's a 5 minute drive on a Tuk Tuk from downtown Juayúa El Salvador, it's safe and the scenery is breath taking, i walked back to downtown and it took us about 25 minutes at a regular pase. For me the best part was walking around in food festival they have every weekend, you can get anything from seafood to... More

If you're unable to visit the nearby 7 cascadas (waterfalls), you can gain a sense here. The pools are pretty easily accessed from town either by walking or taking a tuk tuk. On Sunday they get pretty crowded with visitors from San Salvador so if you want a relaxing time, you might want to go some other time.

Yesterday (April 7, 2016) we drove with our 4x4 to the entrance gate to the waterfalls. I was not feeling comfortable to leave the car with our entire luggage unattended and decided to stay there. My wife and grown up kids went down to the falls. My wife did not go down all the way and waited for the kids... More

Nice 90 minute round trip walking from the centre. Lots of friendly local visitors and tuk tuks available if you don't fancy the walk from town.

We walked from town to these waterfalls, this is a good hike from town , about 30 minutes to get there from the Central Park. It is a good climbed for Returning or you can take a Tuk-Tuk that will be waiting by the gate. Swimming is good and there is vendors on site for drinks or snacks.

We ran into a local who agreed to be our guide for five dollars, and she showed us secret tunnels connecting several falls that we explored! Also, jumped my first cliff!

I was very fortunate to have a guide who knew what he was doing. We caught a moto-taxi from the hotel to the entrance point. Next we begin walking down the rocky path to the main fall which is the easy part and takes about 15-20 minutes carefully walking with good shoes (no flip flops or dress shoes please). Once... More
