Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the town within the western gates of Tongxiang. Once you step into the place, you will understand why it is one of the UNESCO sites.

This water township is very well preserved. Buildings are well maintained and retain the original architecture. While commercial shops and restaurants line up the river banks, you will still get a good sense of what the old town would have looked like.

One must certainly see the place both in the daytime as well as at night. If you can afford the time, choose to stay within the town and start venturing at dusk. That is when the day trippers have not made their way into the park. It is quieter and you can just take your time to soak it all in. In my opinion, the night lights are the highlights and are not to be missed.

You can just spend your entire time with the gates as there is plenty to eat, shop and do. But if you wish to go out for a meal, that is also within walking distance. For those who enjoy the clubbing scene, there are also pubs at the end section where you can get a good mix of live bands performing pop and folk songs.

Entrance fee for the West park is 150 RMB. If you are staying within the park, you will get a 20% discount for the entrance fee.

Wuzhen is one of the most beautiful water towns I've ever visited and some say it's even reminiscent of Venice! Stay for a night and enjoy the peace and serenity when day tourists have left...the scenery also changes a fair bit in the day and night. The boat ride is a must-do when you're here as the boatman rides slowly through the town for you to take in the sights along the way.

Food at the restaurants here are also not overpriced and generally tastes good. Try their local Wuzhen yellow wine with your dishes! Warm it and add plum for a better taste.

See my review of Wuzhen. By far the most interesting and fun area of Wuzhen is in Xi Zha, the West Scenic Area.

The west part of town is much bigger than the east, but both are overly crowded. There is perhaps a better chance of finding a somewhat quieter space in the west simply because it's much bigger. If you only have time to see one of the two sides, this one is probably the one to see explore, again because it's much bigger. However, if you're looking for more authentic and less gentrified, than the east side is perhaps better as the west is almost "too perfect". Come early to avoid the crowds or stay the night inside.

Fun and interesting village to walk around. Take a boat ride and enjoy the scenery at night! There are lots of tiny restaurants and places to grab a bite.

Wuzhen is split into Xi Zha (West) and Dong Zha (East). The canal town is located on Xi Zha. I suggest visitors who come to this place to at least spend a night here. A very high quality chinese restaurant - possibly one of the best in the province is located on the main street within Xi Zha by the name of 淡茶饭 and I would highly recommend visitors to give it a go.

I'm rating it V.good, because of the potential, but we visited it unfortunately during a local holiday period. So it was very crowded. In the late afternoon and evening it was very very crowded and busy. However that did not take away from the pretty evening scenes of the lit up riverside buildings. This place consists of a lot of restaurants and small eateries, a few museums and some nice peaceful quiet parks off the river bank. At the western end, near the temple/pagoda? We came upon a beautiful field of lavender coloured flowers. Nice.

I found the history fascinating but failed to pick up a comprehensive story on the newest of Wushen's water based attractions. There are great eateries, dining and snack foods, and a great range of souvineers. The night lighting is spectacular.

All I can say, this is the best tripe I ever had in China.
Here persevered nice state of old building, and people work here are all nice and friendly, everything have reasonable price in the campus includ B&B stay.
Strongly recommend stay over night in the campus, you can see the awesome night view of Xizha, lighting flash up traditional Chinese building of cannel town and reflecting on the river upside down just like painting.
Next day you can get up early, before the campus open on 7:30, to see the view of Xizha without any make-up in the peaceful morning, you will feeling you're walking in the view of the chinese traditional painting, beautiful like a dream.
Taking boat, having pot of the tea at the tea shop besides the river also you cannot miss it.
