Local and lovely

Nice beach but it is 'organised' so expect to be offered a bed for 15-20 euros or 'free if you have lunch here' in one of the restaurants dotted alone. If you do one thing, make... read more

Platis Yialos is the best beach in Mykonos for families. Large beach with clean clear water and easy access to buses and a boat which takes you around to the other nearby beaches. Plenty of restaurants to choose from all long the beach, or relax on one of the beach beds and order from your waiter. Make sure if you... More

It is a nice beach for swimming, sun bathing. Lots of sunbeds and restaurants, hotels are there at the beach.

This is a sliver of a beach, as in tiny. And crammed with sunbeds, like shoulder to shoulder. The shops and restaurants spill over these sunbeds and during the day, it's a hot mess and not in a good way. Our one and only visit to Mykonos and chose the wrong beach to stay in. And the shoreline is rocky,... More

In my opinion, the best beach to stay in Mykonos. I've stayed in several hotels and the beach front (with the water sports) is always pleasant. Situated between some of the best restaurants and beach clubs and only 10mins from the town. Only place that is far away is Panormas.

The beach of the region is very well organized. The long sandy beach, the crystal waters and the completely equipped installations that facilitate the bathers are the reasons of the fame of Platys Gialos. From here leaves the boat with which you can approach the famous beaches Paradise and Super Paradise.

Great beach - pretty busy, lots of food, hotel options, many sun beds for hanging out and sun bathing, would recommend to at least check out knowing that it's by far not the most secluded.

Take the bus down to this beautiful beach whilst in Mykonos. Not too busy, beautiful waters, water sports, great restaurants and bar choices. Definitely worth a day trip or two here. We found a great beach restaurant called Bonatsa , with relatively cheap sun loungers €15 for two with an umbrella , at the end of the beach which was... More

This is the perfect beach for families and couples. Not too much action but just enough. The other beaches are more Party beaches. This is a great beach to go swimming and get a tan. A great place to just enjoy the sun.

Nice beach but it is 'organised' so expect to be offered a bed for 15-20 euros or 'free if you have lunch here' in one of the restaurants dotted alone. If you do one thing, make sure you avoid the place that is called Kosmoplaz or Yefsi restaurant in the middle. They have the most attractive beds but are known... More
