Had high expectations for my visit to Foundation Cesar Manrique based on all the glowing reviews from other travellers, but it just didn't do anything for me. The place is partly a small modern art gallery so if you like modern abstract art then you'll doubtless enjoy your visit more. The main attraction though was to see Manrique's house created... More

Exceptional architectural solutions, amazing interior design, modern art, man-made constructions and natural structures merging, innovative gardening. A must.

This house was originally the home of Cesar Manrique. It became a museum when he built another home in Haria. Even someone not really into art and architecture will be impressed by this home/museum. No one should visit Lanzarote without seeing as much of his work as you can. very good value to visit and you can wander through the... More

Built over and inside volcanic bubbles, old Cesar did a wonderful architectural job of turnign angry nature into a beautiful habitat, and then planning that it's future would become an art museum / foundation/ You are directed around the place to view and enjoy the architecture and artworks - I didn't enjoy any of the artworks, I don't like this... We cannot get enough of Senor Manrique's masterpieces! What a great tragedy that he died in his prime and so close to home on the big roundabout nearby at Tahiche which used to have one of his fascinating wind-mobiles in the middle of it. Where has this gone? And how on earth did he make it counter-rotate against the prevailing... More

This is well worth a visit. It's amazing how the rooms were formed from the Lava tunnels. You explore at your own pace but there are guides on hand should you wish to know anything.

The building was really fashinating and even my 5-year-old kid wanted to go through the whole house twice. Rent a car for a day to visit here. There is a cafeteria inside the building, so you will get refreshment before continuing your tour to other interesting places in the island.

We visited this house because it was one if many created by Cesar Manrique from the natural landscape of lava flow. Extraordinary 'pockets' or bubbles occurred and he created rooms in several levels, interlinked by narrow, whitewashed passages. Tranquility would sum up the experience - helped by the fact that we did not visit until 5.15p.m. The venue closes at... More

Plenty of parking and a kind of unique house that I would personally just love to live in. You can spend from 30 minutes to 3 hours to view depending upon how closely you want to view the paintings, videos, or other artifacts.
