Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There are a number of these medium-sized parks on the Gold Coast, all offering different and interesting experiences. This one has an excellent children's playground and for the more mature amongst us an excellent walk along a boardwalk along between the river and the mangroves. Only about a kilometre up and a further km back. Very pleasant stroll on a sunny day. And like so many of these pocket parks it's accessible to the less physically abled which is a great feature. There is also a very sensible cafe near the children's playground for coffee or lunch before or after your exertions.

Lovely surprise of a park right here. A little hidden surprise. I have lived on the Gold Coast since the mid nineties and only discovered this beauty! A well maintained park right on Palm Beach. Lovely bbq facilities with a toilet for disabled persons. We took a path that lead us back to Palm Beach Avenue where the main shops are - fabulous!!

Ahoy! Part of me wants to downplay how good this park is so that it's not overloaded with visitors but that would be unfair of me and quite selfish. This is a really well-designed park that my own daughter just loves visiting and is incredibly difficult to pull away from. See for yourself, kids are transported into a world of imagination and piracy! Some of the other Gold Coast parks just lack that sense of character and fun, they're bland and poorly constructed with no soul. Combined with a swim or a paddle in the water, the Pirate Park is a great, free day out for your family. The park also has BBQ areas but you need to get in quickly. Picnics are a good option too, or Dune Cafe. Parking can be an issue - if that happens, you might have to just wait 5-10 minutes for someone to move (but get in quick). If you don't mind the walk, try a few streets away! (Annoying though, I know! Especially in the heat!)

For the young and the young at heart it's a treasure trove of pirate fun. We had a wonderful time with a 4 year old finding the treasure, being a pirate on the ship and going in the cave. Then a nice stroll around to Currumbin Creek and back. Great info boards, if you have time read them. Great sheltered inlet for a swim.

Awesome creek area for walking and swimming with the dogs, they also have access to the main beach too. Plenty of water fountains for them on the way too. A cafe area and play park area (dogs not permitted here). Parking does get quite full on busy days like the weekend.

Our little man loves the “pirate park”. He plays on the ship structures for ages engaging with either the numerous other kids or even just taking dad on an adventure.
Well worth the stop if in the southern beach’s region. You little pirates will enjoy and the big pirates can grab a coffee from the Dune cafe at the same time. Win win.

I love this parkland because it is one of the few that are great for kids with a playground near the beach! The only thing is it needs more shaded areas (both trees and structural shading) because it does get quite hot!!

Hi there and Hello again! This little note is all about "The Pirate Park" in Palm Beach! What can I say about this place that would really do the trick? Well...first off...if you are a family person, especially New Mum's, this place not only provides a fun, interactive, Pirate Ship themed play area...there is also a BBQ area, restrooms close by and just down the path through the park, a really great café that serves wonderful coffee's, lovely fresh juices, smoothies and great meals with decent prices. If all that isn't enough for you and you are wondering if there are any nice area's to swim OR maybe you have a canine member of the family that could use a nice run and swim and you are wondering if there is an "Off-Leash" section and the answer to both questions is YES! Some of the best swimming spots, fishing and a GREAT Dog Beach area as well! If you are a visitor with family a local or just on your own...this a great way to spend a weekend in the sun!
