Great and cheap way to get around the Gold Coast

    Good Tram Service
The team runs frequent service and has a good number of stops in Gold Coast. You can use a Go Card which can be picked up at a lot of convenience stores but if you're only visiting this area for a few days you might just want to use your credit card to use the service so you don't get cash stuck in a Go Card. If you do plan to use credit cards you would need one for each member of your party. The fare is pretty affordable with most rides on the G Link being 2-3 dollars. There are card readers on the platforms to tap in before you board and tap out when you exit the trams. We took the tram from Helensvale in Brisbane to the end of the line in Gold Coast. It was a great experience going there but we felt in the afternoon they could have used a few people to walk the trains to help with young swearing hooligans who were sprawled across multiple seats.

    Reliable Public Transport.
Rapid, reliable and came along every few minutes. This is a great way to get around Broadbeach and the Gold Coast. We caught the train from Brisbane Airport and then the G from Helensvale. All went well and if you have the time it’s more interesting than the Airport Coach. If you’re walkers like us you can get the G as far as you like and walk part of the way back and catch the G anywhere that suits. We stayed at Broadbeach and caught the G to Bumbles at Budd’s Beach for great coffees.

    Less confusing than Melbourne
It was a good experience, plenty of sitting spaces especially for prams and wagons. It is easy to follow and lovely display to let you know where you are and how long to get where you need to be. It was nice that the tap on and off were located at the stops and not in the trams. Making it easy and less stressful when looking for a seat.

Very clean and tidy with lots of room. The only thing I don’t like is that u have too use your Visa card. It doesn’t feel safe.

Ticket checking workers, I can say some workers are very rude when they check tickets. Even though I tap on my card and the way they behave with me was unacceptable . They think that they are always right. Some people really need a class how to talk in a good manner

This is an excellent mode of transportation.

Its reliable and very frequent.

I arrived from Brisbane getting off the train at Helensvale and connecting with the GLink there to reach my accomodation in Broadbeach.

I used the service frequently between Broadbeach and Surfers paradise and with a seniors card the fares were discounted.

The Gold Coast trams are a great way to get around. Smooth, quiet and inexpensive. Bring on the extensions to Burleigh and (eventually) Coolangatta!
