Have some time available. Great value for money. This is a fascinating display to view, especially if you take in the short but informative film shows

We booked the stargazing tour in advance but as with all outdoor activities it's very dependent on the weather. Our first night the tour was cancelled but it was re-booked for the next evening. Again it was raining/cloudy/windy so the tour was cancelled again. What did bother us was that the cancellation was only for the outdoor part instead of... More

The movies were ok, the few exhibits interesting but it's a stretch to call this a museum. A big room with memorabilia is more like it.

Some cool stuff to see, but really not as good as the free to enter DOC centre down the road. Found that the DOC went into much more detail and covered more topics. Was disappointed that this museum didn't go onto more detail about Hillary on Everest or his Antarctic expeditions.

What a wonderful tribute to a great explorer. Lots of detail and exhibits of memorabilia on display. The planatarium theatre was excellent comfortable clean and a quality exhibit. Really enjoyed viewing the documentary on moutain rescues the bravery and passion of these dedicated people. A great exhibit.

This is a great little centre to get into tge history & stories of climbers, not just Hillary's. I agree with some reviews tgat the DOC information centre, which is free is fantastic as well, but if you have tge time to watch the shows, this place is well worth the $20 entry. We went on a 'down day' giving... More

At $20 per person this was not good value for money. If you were there on a rainy day and wanted to watch all the movies/videos it would be okay. You can come and go as you like, unfortunately for us we did not have the time. This is not a museum dedicated to Sir Edmund Hillary, really just some... More

We have always been interested in mountain climbers, living vicariously through their expeditions to Everest especially. Sir Edmund Hillary is a name we've known for years but knew very little about him other than that he grew up in New Zealand. When we visited Mt Cook, we were more than a little delighted to find an opportunity to learn much... More
