We had a great guide, Pancho, who made our trip fun, enlightening, educational and informative. What an amazing experience and sight, like being in the Antarctic. Thanks heaps for the trip. The driver out to the site, I found her attitude to my questions rather unnecessarily sarcastic toward a client. But never the less, a great great trip.

The glacier explorer tours are run out of the Hermitage hotel at Mt. Cook. We arrived at Mt. Cook well ahead of our scheduled tour time of 3:30 but it and the prior tour were cancelled due to continual rain. We rescheduled our tour for the next day and hoped for the best. The next day had scattered showers and... More

The trip gets you on the water fairly close to the glacier. The tour guide was nice and provided decent information but nothing you nothing you can't read in the brochure. I gave it only 3 stars for 3 reasons: 1) you can see the entire lake/glacier for free by walking up a steep but short hill to the scenic... More

The scenery is spectacular. Our boat operator Brett was very knowledgeable of the glaciers. He read the wind and waves correctly. Continuous Radio contact between the 3 boats enhances customer safety. Most important courteous. The bad..You board the bus at the Hermitage hotel for the 15 minute ride to the parking area. You are told if you cannot walk 1.6... More

This activity includes a transfer from the Hermitage Hotel to the Tasman Lake, a 20 Minutes walk from the carpark to the jetty and a 1 hour boat tour on the lake viewing many icebergs and the glacier. I was lucky and saw Mt Cook. All the information given was useful and interesting to listen to.

This tour was excellent. Our guides Tom and Brett were fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly and we felt safe in the boat with them. It was great to have an opportunity to see the Glacier and Icebergs up close.

We spent our honeymoon in Mt Cook and decided to do the Glacier Explorer adventure. From the moment we booked to the end of the tour, we had a great experience. It can get very cold in the boat so make sure you dress warm. The walk from the bus to the boat is about 20 minutes but it's quite... More

We had perfect weather for our boat trip on the Tasman glacial lake. The staff were excellent - safety was a major consideration both for the passengers on the zodiac and when we were cruising around the lake. The information was wonderful - to touch ice which was formed 600 years ago was just awesome. The glacier was calving while... More

We absolute enjoyed every part of this tour. Our guides on a bus and the boat were very informative. You can easily see that they are dedicated. It was cold and windy on the boat but it doesn't matter really when you get to see very active icebergs. We were lucky to see 2! :) Pieces of iceberg falling into... More

The day we went on our glacial boat explorer the weather was sunny and clear. The boat trip on the Tasman Glacier is a must do. Mother Nature at her best. See this wonder before it's too late due to warming. There is a walk to and from the boat that requires a mid level of fitness but worth the... More
