About
Methven locals, we provide daily shuttle service to Mt Hutt during winter, departing from Methven I-SITE and select Methven Accommodation. A Christchurch to Mt Hutt daily service during winter is also available for those not staying in town that are wanting to ski. Methven Travel also offer a series of Airport transfers to and from Methven Accommodation.

The Access Rd is not for the feint of heart on a snowy or icy day and the shuttle takes all the stress out of the day. Extremely helpful. I've been picked up and dropped off at the airport, or my hotel in Christchurch. I used Methven Travel for Christchurch Airport to Methven return transfers. Our driver, Karen, was lovely and even stopped at Rakaia Gorge for us to take photos on the way. I also used Methven Travel for three days of transfers to Mt Hutt for skiing. The service was excellent, being punctual,comfortable and safe with pick up and drop off outside my accommodation. I felt very safe each day knowing the driver was very experienced in negotiating the daunting mountain roads and fitting chains to the bus. On my second day, a car plummeted over the edge of the mountain road. Incredibly, the two occupants survived the accident. There is no way I would drive up and down this road when the option to travel with Methven Travel is available, so affordable and so convenient. It was all so easy, being dropped off and collected straight outside Mt Hutt Base buildings. I definitely recommend Methven Travel and will continue to use them for future trips.

Excellent service.
The bus driver was very experienced and earnt his stripes, navigating the narrow, icy roads leading up to Mt Hutt.
And he helped me load my skis onto the bus.
I felt in safe hands.

We used the Methven Travel bus from Methven to Mt. Hutt and the service was amazing! The ease of booking on our phones, being picked up in front of our lodge and then being safely transported up the mountain made our trip so easy and hassle free. Then, after a tiring day of skiing, we just hopped on the bus and were dropped off in front of our lodge. Amazing!
The drivers are super friendly, helpful and most importantly safe. I highly recommend the Methven Travel buses for your next ski trip or adventure travel around Methven.
On our last day, I left my phone on my seat and the driver "Lumber" literally searched all over Methven for me. Such a great guy! We'll be back and will be sure to book our travel with Methven Travel!

We used the bus from Methven and found it very punctual and efficient. Staff were helpful and informative. Good option if you don't have chains or are just visiting Mt Hutt. No issues. Picked us up from our Motel and dropped us back there after.

The Christchurch Airport /Methven shuttle is perfect for a Friday afternoon Christchurch school pickup to bring our boarding school child home. The prompt, efficient and friendly service provided is value for $$ and is very convenient. Easy to book, either online or in person.

We stayed in Methven and traveled up to Mt Hutt each day with Methven Travel. So worth avoiding the hassle of putting on your own chains and funding a car park. They pick up from many of the lodges in Methven and communication was excellent and prompt when Mt Hutt was closed. They also offer two different time slots in the morning and in the afternoon. Good value, stress-free travel!

I have used Methven Travel many times over many years to travel Christchurch Airport to Methven and return. From the office staff to the drivers and vans, I couldn't ask for better hospitality, punctuality and service. Nothing is ever too much trouble.

Bus service was as described. Even if you don’t stay overnight in Methven and get hotel pickup, you can leave your car at the Methven i-site and take the shuttle. Often the ski car parks are closed by early morning (before 9) because they’re full. However, they let the buses and shuttles through to the top. So it’s a no brained to take the shuttle. You don’t have to mess with putting on snow chains either. They drop you off and pick you up right at the base.

I was picked up by Jodie who was waiting for my flight. She was so helpful and friendly. Customer service was amazing and nothing was a problem. We had a lovely chat on the way to Methven and the view was beautiful. I thoroughly recommend Methven Travel to and from the Christchurch Airport and they would certainly be my first contact on my next travels.

Caught a ride between Christchurch Airport and Methven.
Was a great ride, really pleasant driver who was nice enough to tell a few things about the areas we were driving through.
Good value, highly recommended.
