Grab a beer from one of the bars and sit in the shade watching the world promenade past. Other than lunching or strolling in the hot sun around a rather boring town...this is the thing to do in Morretes.

The river is an unavoidable aspect to the town of Morretes and it is what makes the town pretty in the end. Hanging out next to the river while sipping on a beer is probably the highlight of your trip here.

In the summer, on a very hot day, a nice experience is going down the river in a buoy (actually an old truck tyre). It's cheap, fun, and relatively safe, as long as you have common sense.

Going down the river on a float is something you have to do once in Morretes.... you will enjoy the river beauties and the historical houses on the sides... the water is cold and pleasant. Specially on summer time when the temperature reaches the 40C...More

If you take the train up to Morettes bring a swim suit. The rental shop has shower facilities. Go for a float down the river.
