Wonderful sands at low tide, shingle otherwise. Most of it is dog friendly all year. Good walks along the ridge & paths to Rye Harbour through the nature reserve.

We loved this beach. Amazing views out to Dungeness and hatings. Beautiful countryside just across the road! I could spend the whole day here and not get bored. Highly recommend.

Winchelsea Beach is a nice place to take a walk particularly with the nature reserve running along side it. If you want to soak up the sun on a sand beach it is not so good. Pebbles at high tide and sand/mud at low tide,...More

Lovely beach, so quiet and really unspoilt. Benefits from not having arcades and tones of parking. Combination of sand, shingle and some mud in places if the tide is out.

Lovely clean pebble beach. Nice walk. Dog walking restrictions in parts of it. There is a cafe at one end for a reward.

Pebbles at high tide, good sand at low. Nature reserve a bit of a walk (to hides) but loads of waders.

If it's a walk you want then this beach is okay not a lot to see or do. Took dogs for a walk but it was boring

Always love visiting this place as it is so clean and as nature intended although the sea defences add charm and character to the beach. Great for a day out, walking, sunbathing and swimming etc.

So you have to walk on/through the pebbly but to get the best part of the beach “the sand”. What a peaceful afternoon walk it was. Clean beach, very few people bench surfing & quite a few families having fun in the sea. Loads of...More

The main part,to the West near snack bar has dog-ban thru' the summer; but East of the toilets there is no ban. Signs are clear. The promenade / sea wall is ok for dogs all the way all year.
