A surprising find (but not that easy to find!) in Hitchin. Lots of helpful volunteers, and we even had a guided tour to ourselves. Definitely recommend a visit, and today's schoolchildren should go and see how lucky they are today!!

Run by volunteers, this is a good place for children to find out what school was once like. They can dress up, have a go at writing on sand, slates, and with a dip pen and ink. There are nice old-fashioned toys to play with...More

A delightful insight as to what school must have been like in Victorian times, fun and very educational for children , as they can dress up in costume of the era to enhance the experience!
