We had the chance to visit and stay in Kochelsee twice. It is very nice place to visit and relax or to practice jogging. The view is very beutiful and there are many birds and dukes. The area has enough free car parking and seating benches to relax and may be to spend some peaceful time. the lake is not far from Garmisch ( less than 30 minutes by car).

We went here to swim which we did with wetsuits as it was pretty chilly. We also walked around it which was a good day's walk. Have a look at the photos - they speak for themselves.

This lake is just magical. It's so tranquil and calm, and has outstanding views.

It is roughly 6 square kilometres in size, and 66 metres deep.

Kochel Lake isnt the biggest lake around its really quite quiet compared to say the Chiemsee but its preety and the round the lake boat trip at 5€ for just over 90 minutes is good the captain does a running commentary but sorry it was in German. You can have a snack on the boat and a little glass of beeer or wine or of course a cup of tea. We had a great time

This is one of the many lakes in Bavaria. What makes it different is that the river Loisach enters the lake at Schlehdorf and leaves the lake again on the other side. This makes most of the lake to cold for bathing but also stops the lake from freezing over in winter.
There is a daily boat service every two hours in the summer month which connects the two villages of Schlehdorf and Kochel am See and also stops at the Franz Marc Museum, the Seehotel Grauer Bär and the Walchensee Power Station.

Good for a small walk, some people around and the late with a backdrop of mountains where time get irrelevant and the eyes have some lunch. Chill.

Hello we were there 4 5 years ago with another couple for the weekend and we also visit the thermal bath there. It was awesome the view are very nice fresh air a super good place to kill the city life I can only recommend it for the weekend u can also hike there if you want and it's a easy road

Astonishing place. If you are a natural beauty lover and you are in Germany this is the place to stay. Hotels and restaurants around are good. People are nice. You can go to trails and parks and even museum around this place. There are new swimming pools. Multi floor swimming pool. Hotels are not so expensive. Restaurants are quite good for local food and other food types.
