Photographs don't do justice to the turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki, add to that the snow capped Mount Cook standing guard over it, and it becomes one of the most stunning landscapes that you'll ever set eyes on. Having stayed overnight in our camper van...More

I stayed at Lake Pukaki Campground with view of the full lake plus Mount Cook on the opposite side - absolutely stunning!! When the sun shines on the water it looks like a huge swimming pool, with beautiful surroundings :). This must easily be one...More

It's one of the most scenic spot of South Island. The lake color appears impressively blue under sunshine. It will be a great loss if you haven't included this in your itinerary.

We arrived at dusk to park our motor home overlooking the lake and the weather was pretty miserable with lots of low cloud so it wasn't until the next morning that we realised we were in fact in paradise. I didn't realise at first that...More

The lake is so blue! The drive way to Mt Cook is really beautiful. If you go in the good weather it will be really really nice. The salmon at the visiting center is good too. (Better than the other farm nearby)

Iridescent blue Lake on way to Mt Cook with the Southern Alps in the background. Even on the cloudy day we drove by the Lake was an astounding sight and good subject for a panoramic photo

What a view as Mount Cook rises at the end of the lake. Glacial clear lake which stretches for miles. Stunning.
