Can recommend taking the drive round the lake. There are some stunning views and pretty spots to stop off for a picnic.

Lake Wairarapa is a large lake nestling under the Rimutuka hills and is very picturesque particularly at sunset. Best place to see it is from 1 S Soldiers Settlement Rd, Lake Reserve 5771 just a 10 min drive south of Featherston. Well worth the drive.

A very quiet place with spectacular sunsets over Rimutakas range in Wairarapa. There are swans and native birds nesting around the lake. It's one of our favourite place.
