A great sandy beach, with plenty of room. At low tide, there is a reef that gets exposed at the North end of the beach. It was good fun bolder hopping along it. Keep an eye on the tide coming in though. Apparently there are really good waves for surfing here too. I didn't see any during my 3 day... More

Visited the beach on a couple of occasions whilst in the area visiting relatives. It is very clean and wide. Like any beach it is an idea to keep a watch of the tidal currents. There is plenty of staff to accommodate children and dogs. there is a ramp down to the beach so some level of wheelchair access would... More

Never get sick of walking along this stretch of beach at any time of the year, such a beautiful coastline. There is a cafe at either end and surf lessons are also available. Great for all ages.

This is a wonderful beach for children. We arrived mid-tide, so there was plenty of space and we were lucky with the weather, which of course cannot be guaranteed on the north east coast.

Wow, what a stunning beach. We were very fortunate to visit here on a beautiful clear day with bright blue skies. The sea was calm and it was a beautiful tranquil day. The sand here is vast, clean and beautiful. My kids had a great time just running around and doing cartwheels. We walked from king Edwards bay up to... More

The beach is beautiful and clean at any time of the year, plenty of space, places for the kids to play in the sand, paddle or learn to surf. On top of all this, there are now places to eat, Crusoe's do delightful cupcakes.

I visited this beach for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the scenery and golden sand. I travelled 30 miles to this beach and it was definitely worth the journey. I would recommend this for a good cheap family day out. Also great for dogs.
